Cecil and Ida Green Lecture Series began in 1972 and is currently ongoing. The Lecture Series sponsors academics from various fields and other prominent figures to lecture at the University. UBC faculty members often nominate potential lecturers. The Cecil and Ida Green, Lecture Series Committee makes the final decision on which guests to sponsor and invite to lecture at UBC.

This fonds consists of lists of lecturers, curriculum vitae, minutes, newspaper clippings and photographs; it is divided between administrative and lectures series.

The fonds was transferred to the Archives in 2003 by Roseanne Rumley, former administrative assistant to the University Lectures Committee and the Green Lectures Committee and the Dal Grauer Memorial Lecture Committee.
