This album consists of photographs from a tour made on the first C.P. R.M.S. Empress of India with the Canadian Pacific Railway, assembled by Sir James and Lady Power before the outbreak of the First World War. Some of the photographs have been hand coloured. The album includes photographs of Victoria, British Columbia, including a photograph of the Esquimalt dry dock, and a photograph of warships in Victoria harbour. There are some photographs of the Canadian Pacific Railway and a photograph of Chinese employees cleaning salmon at the Ewans and Company cannery. Attached to the front endpaper is a leaf of Lady Power's stationery, with a black border inscribed "Presented by Lady Power to John Edward Fottrell in memory of Sir James".
