Scope and content

Subseries consists of textual compositions by various creators, collected, compiled and organized by Doug Cox in support of his writing function. Manuscripts are created by non-professional writers, frequently as first-person reminiscences of past events, persons, and locations. Includes some autobiographies and family histories. These manuscripts may or may not correspond to published works. In particular, treatments of ranching are featured.
Subseries is arranged into 50 files or portions of files.

Physical condition

Immediate source of acquisition

Manuscript subseries is placed within the Collected Materials series on account of their being of diverse provenancial origins, and of their probable rarity, which distinguishes them from photocopies of published materials that makes up the bulk of the Research Files series. It is acknowledged that physically they are interspersed with the Research Files series as physically aggregated by Doug Cox.
