The records also include his original research material and data into various groups in the South Pacific, and other topics in anthropology. More personal records related to his education and family. Also included are materials about the disappearance and subsequent inquiry into the death of Betty Joy Belshaw. It includes notes and manuscripts of several of his books, including From Pebbles to Computers and Sciencescape and copies of correspondence relating to his articles published by The Globe and Mail, the Southam News Syndicate and Science Dimension in the 1980s. It also includes correspondence relating to his professional work, his broadcasting and literary career, his work in the Department of Zoology at UBC, and research materials, information and correspondence regarding various associations to which Suzuki belonged or had dealings. It also includes recordings of David Suzuki's "Discovery" and "Equinox" from 1983-1990 and video recordings of some episodes of "The Nature of Things" from 1994, and copies of his speeches from 1985-2009.

The records of the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are representative of the athletics side of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. While athletics and recreation fall under the same department, in practice, they operate independently of one another. Their textual records are also physically held at separate locations. Surviving records in the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are broadly representative of the achievements of UBC athletes and teams. Far less extensive, are the types of administrative documents produced or accumulated in the course of the day-to-day business of the department. Examples of records present in the fonds include programs, historical research, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, team rosters, scoresheets, profile write-ups, yearbooks, media guides, correspondence, agendas, training schedules, coaching handbooks, travel itineraries, and ephemera.

Also included are audio recordings of interviews (with typed transcripts) documenting the Department's historical development.

The Historical Files series consists of textual records which document the Department's formative years, and photographs; they had been placed in a box and stored separately from the Department's other records until transferred to the Archives.

The fonds consists of records generated by both the Dept. of University Extension (1936-1969) and its predecessor, the Extension Lectures Committee (1918-1935). It appears that the records were re-arranged to facilitate the writing of Gordon Selman's history of the Department, and the original order was lost. records; professional and vocational education; the humanities and summer school; evening classes, lectures and correspondence courses; supporting services; pamphlets, brochures and course material; and Selman's own research notes. The fonds also includes a large number of photographs primarily from the 1950s and 1960s which depict campus events as well as people and buildings, as well as audio recordings of lectures and other events.

Fonds consists of records made and received by the Division of Industrial Education. The bulk of the fonds documents the administrative activities of the Division, such as personnel, budgets, meetings, committees, and the association with the Faculty of Education and other offices at UBC. The fonds also contain program development documentation, including proposals, curriculum, course outlines, and other teaching materials. Additional records are related to the field of Industrial Education in general. Textual records are comprised of memorandums, meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, reports, notes, curriculum, and lesson plans. Non-textual records include photographs and technical drawings.
Fonds is arranged in the following series: Administration series, Programs series, and Miscellaneous series. The Administration series also consists of five sub-series: Faculty, Budgets; Meetings; Faculty of Education and UBC; and Committee. The Programs series also consists of the Courses sub-series.

Division of Plant Science fonds

Fonds consists of 10 volumes of purchase requisitions from 1954 to 1958, and a central office correspondence series from 1955 to 1965. The correspondence is informally arranged within a classification system that was inconsistently applied and developed until 1964. Two reference sheets for the subject classification system remain for 1956 and 1963 and are included in the first file for each of those two years. Many of the headings reflect the categories used by the Department of Agronomy. Intermingled with the files of the division are some of the faculty papers of V.C. Brink, the chair of the division. In 1964, the entire system appears to have broken down. From 1964 to 1970 all the division correspondence files were stored in unlabelled file folders the vast majority of which exhibited no internal coherence. Because of the presence of Brink's faculty papers in the files, and because of the absence of the division's classification system, the records from 1964 to 1970 have been arranged and described with Brink's personal papers. For a complete understanding of the functions and activities of the division, these records must also be consulted.

The files includes letters to Captain Owen Thomas of schooner "Venture" from an unknown party regarding restrictions on entering the Bering Sea and referencing Captain Urquhart. The files also contains Spring's notes regarding and drafts of letters to Urquhart's family, as well as documents from Customs and Excise, Canada regarding Urquhart's ownership of vessels "Venture," "W.P. Sayward," and "Penelope."

The records in this fonds include published math articles, correspondence with colleagues and organizations, lecture notes and presentations on Algebra given around the world. There are also records of his early career in the US and student evaluations of his classes. Also in the fonds are newspaper clippings, reports, programs and photographs. The fonds consist of 15 incoming letters from Ethel Johns (1948-1950, 1961-1965), Director of Nursing Services and Education at Vancouver General Hospital, and the new nursing program at UBC. Under Johns' guidance, the five-year plan established the B.Sc. in Nursing. The fonds also include biographical information and records relating to Flanagan's various awards, including an honorary doctorate from McGill University (1977).

Fonds consists mainly of correspondence between Ellen Jaffe and Jane Rule, written between 1996 and 2001. The first series follows a letter Jaffe wrote to Rule in appreciation of the TVO film Fiction and Other Truths about her life and work. The rest of the letters deal with Jaffe asking to use quotes from the film in her book Writing Your Way and her visiting Rule on Galiano Island in 2001 to give her a copy of the book. The folder also includes a copy of Jaffe’s book, with the quotes from Jane Rule bookmarked.
