Name of creator
Louis Michaud was an Ottawa-based collector of French Canadiana. He was primarily interested in the history of French Canada.
Scope and content
The collection, started at the turn of the century by Michaud, consists of documents, correspondence, and records relating to French-Canadian history. It includes transcripts and photographic copies of material in the Archives Nationales in Paris and Quebec and elsewhere.
Immediate source of acquisition
The collection was donated to the University of British Columbia by H.R. MacMillan in 1958.
The arrangement of the material in this collection has followed the series order devised at UBC Library Special Collections by Peter N. Moogk in the 1970s.
