Text on back: "A glimpse of the ocean beach fronting the Pac. Ocean at Seaview, Pacific county, Washington, just north of Cape Disappointment at the mouth of the Columbia river, the drift wood being for the use of the numerous summer cottage owners among the trees at the right. From where this camera was stationed Capt Wm. Clark in 1805 walked three miles up the beach and wrote his name on a tree. The cross indicates the location of "O-KU-LAM" cottage occupied by T.C.E."
