The collection consists of documents, archival records, photographs, ephemera and artifacts related to three broad themes: British Columbia history, immigration and settlement and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company. Included are the archival fonds of the Yip family and Yip Sang Company, the Dart Coon Club and Chinese Freemasons of Victoria, Hugh G. Robinson (regarding the S.S. Greenhill Park Explosion), Rev. MacDonnell (regarding the Clandonald colony of Scottish immigrants in Alberta) and the British Columbia Coast Steamship Service. Includes documents, ephemera and artifacts of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, including records of travelers on CPR rail and steamships.

Canadian Pacific Ocean Services Pacific sailings

Broadside, written in Chinese, advertising trans-Pacific sailings of Canadian Pacific Ocean Services steamships. The broadside features a sketch of the Empress of Asia and lists Canadian Pacific Agents Yip Sang of Vancouver, British Columbia, Seto More, Asiatic Passenger Agent in Vancouver, J. J. Forster, General Agent in Vancouver, and C. E. Benjamin, General Passenger Agent in Montreal.

Deck plans for various Canadian Pacific ships

Tissue deck plans for the third Montcalm, the second Montrose, the Montclare, and the Duchess steamships Atholl, Bedford, York, and Richmond. Deck plans of the Montcalm, Montrose, and Montclare for the following years: August, 1923 and March, 1928 (with interior views), and February 1930, July 1935, and March, 1937 (colour coded with interior views).
