The collection consists of documents related to the activities of local individuals, including the appointment of Justice of the Peace John Tallant; invoices and receipts for Hugh Tallant, Sarah Tallant, William Blake, Samuel Wells, W.W. Sargent, Samuel Sargent, Theodore Cooke, J.W. Blodget, Seth W. Fowle, Lyman Washburn, Fred E. Thorpe, William Wallace, and Edward Farnum, among others, mainly dealing with the sale and purchase of farming equipment, land, and household supplies.

The ABPBC’s activities included applying for funding from a range of provincial and federal organizations and governments, holding meetings, advocating for their members to the provincial government, promoting their members, undertaking special projects, and researching areas pertinent to the provincial book publishing industry. Specific administrative activities the organization undertook included maintaining its multi-level membership base, managing finances and funding applications, electing executive teams, and overseeing various projects.
