Fonds consists of textual records, and includes written notes and typed transcripts from interviews conducted by William Willmott and two research assistants. Interviews were conducted with Jack Yee and Seto Yingshek, and with relatives and friends of H.Y. Louie. Also included is related correspondence, a membership register of a small Chinese association (written in Chinese), and a small notebook (contents written in Chinese).

Collection contains correspondence relating to Florence Nightingale. The majority of the letters are addressed to Nightingale while others are sent from her or involve other correspondents discussing Nightingale. Letters date from 1877 to 1965. There are also newspaper clippings, transcripts, notes, and envelopes that all relate to Florence Nightingale. There are also photographs of Florence Nightingale and prominent people in her life.

The fonds consist of three series: Drafts and working papers directly related to the Royal Commission on Taxation, Drafts and working papers not directly connected to the Royal Commission on Taxation, Memorandums, correspondence and background information concerned with the Royal Commission and its Commissioners.

Fonds consists of 10 volumes of purchase requisitions from 1954 to 1958, and a central office correspondence series from 1955 to 1965. The correspondence is informally arranged within a classification system that was inconsistently applied and developed until 1964. Two reference sheets for the subject classification system remain for 1956 and 1963 and are included in the first file for each of those two years. Many of the headings reflect the categories used by the Department of Agronomy. Intermingled with the files of the division are some of the faculty papers of V.C. Brink, the chair of the division. In 1964, the entire system appears to have broken down. From 1964 to 1970 all the division correspondence files were stored in unlabelled file folders the vast majority of which exhibited no internal coherence. Because of the presence of Brink's faculty papers in the files, and because of the absence of the division's classification system, the records from 1964 to 1970 have been arranged and described with Brink's personal papers. For a complete understanding of the functions and activities of the division, these records must also be consulted.

Fonds consists of course materials, correspondence, subject files, reports, clippings, printed material, and index cards, relating to Hutchinson's work with the UBC Department of Biology and Botany. The fonds reflects his research interests, which included studies of conifers, forest ecology and tree genetics, particularly of the Douglas fir; to a limited extent, his personal life is also documented. The fonds also includes approximately 3,600 photographic negatives and prints (most black and white, some in colour), 1,200 lantern slides, and some transparencies. The photographs are mainly microscopic images of plants and trees in British Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, Florida and South Africa in the early part of the twentieth century. There is also a photograph album accompanying Hutchinson's report Grazing Lands in British Columbia. Finally, there are maps, charts, and diagrams, which are listed and stored separately.

Amongst Shepherd's papers are those of his wife, Dorothy H. Shepherd, which relate to her work as an executive member of the South Westminster CCF Women's Club (1942-1959).

Buck organized most of his papers into subject files relating to his activities and arranged them in alphabetical order. The files, in many instances, contain correspondence, reports and memos. The fonds also includes maps, plans, and posters, as well as photographs.

The fonds consists of typewritten research notes relating to historical sources of information about salmon canning in British Columbia.

The collection consists of assorted records divided by subject generated during the expedition and general material about Easter Island subsequently added. Records include correspondence, magazine clippings, newsletters, personnel lists, and reports.

The majority of the collection consists of over 200 pencil handwritten copies of Martha May Beardmore’s accounts of her work during the First World War in Serbia and Salonika. There are also notes on a presentation she attended, newspaper clippings, and fragmentary documents about the First World War. At the end of the collection is a covering letter from her husband, Harry Beardmore to the UBC librarian which gives some biographical information.

Fonds consists of a scrapbook of prize-winning models created between 1961 and 1964 and sponsored by the Association of Professional Engineers of B.C. presented to the Engineering Undergraduate Society.

The collection of papers of William Brenton Burnett consists mainly of autograph letters, typescripts of addresses, notebooks and documents. These relate to Dr. Burnett’s life as a student at Acadia University and at McGill University, and as a teacher and physician in Vancouver, British Columbia. The principal part of the collection deals with the early years of the period covered (1891-1964). A number of diplomas accompany these papers.

Contains photographs and textual records related to MacMillan Bloedel Limited, collected by Ralph Shaw Sr., who was an employee at the company.

The fonds consists of copies of bylaws and constitutions, executive minutes (1951-1964), presidential reports (1954-1964), membership lists (1954-1964), correspondence (1959-1964) and assorted newsletters, clippings and printed material. Also included are small series of records generated by affiliate organizations including International House Association Inc., International House and Friendly Relations with Overseas Students' Council.

The fonds also includes two scrapbooks containing letters, clippings, photographs (including Norman Bethune) and related materials. Another scrapbook (1928-1963) was completed by Stephen's wife after his death.

The fonds consists of material related to Emerson's career in radio and to his involvement in Canadian (Vancouver) radio and musical theatre, principally during the 1950s and early 1960s. It includes scripts and notes for various radio programs which Emerson hosted and in which he was involved. Textual records in the fonds consist of letters related to Delafield's research and writing on the British author Charlotte Yonge and unpublished manuscripts, plays, short articles, book reviews, and lectures written by Delafield pertaining to her interests in Charlotte Yonge, women, religion, the lives of the British upper class, and other subjects. The fonds also includes clippings, obituary notices, photographs, and records related to the writings of Lorna Lewis. Fonds consists of reports and printed material from the Fraser River Model Project (1948-1963) acquired from Dr. Pretious and the Applied Science Reading Room. The classification system is Pretious's own. The records were maintained in the order they were received.

The fonds consists of financial records of the Humbird family and records of various companies in which they had interests, including: Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company, Limited; Clearwater Timber Company; Humbird Lumber Company, Limited; Jacob Humbird Holding Company; White River Lumber Company; and Seaboard Shipping Company Limited.

The fonds consists of copies of Todd's articles (1915-1952), Todd family genealogies and a handwritten travel journal and accompanying photograph album from a trip to Europe, Egypt and Greece (1923).

The collection consists of diaries (1909-1922, 1924-1961), notebooks, copies of sermons, and miscellaneous materials related to Shimizu’s religious work and personal life. Many of the documents reflect his involvement with church congregations and Japanese-Canadian relations.

This accumulation of materials constitutes the background for the final report on the Hoxsey Cancer Clinic in Dallas, Texas, which was published by the Queen’s Printer in Victoria in 1958. The collection consists of correspondence, account sheets, newspaper clippings, brochures, patient records, interview transcriptions and the final draft of the committee report.

The fonds consists of eleven audiotapes, comprising over four hours of interviews with well-known Canadian artists, including B.C. Binning and Jack Shadbolt. The fonds consists of a single audiotape series, arranged alphabetically. In these interviews, Adaskin examines each artist's unique creative process through probing and often unorthodox questions.

Fonds consists of several essays and one publication. It includes an annotated copy of a paper written by St. Clair-Sobell, an essay about Leo Tolstoy, a biography of Ornest D. Durnovo with related correspondence, and written remarks by a Soviet commentator on one of St. Clair-Sobell's papers. The publication is a course calendar from Karl-Franzens-Reichsuniversitat (University of Graz, in Austria) for the winter semester 1944/45.

The collection consists of 53 photographs of well-known 20th century opera singers, composers, musicians, and directors, as well as a performance program and a print of a portrait painting, given to and collected by Pauline Donalda as mementos of her career. The majority of the photographs are signed and dedicated to Pauline Donalda by their subjects, often with personal comments.

The fonds consists of minute books, membership lists (1916-1937), photographs, plays, financial records, programs and play announcements (1916-1961), scrapbooks (1916-1944), and ephemera.

Fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings and numerous reports generated between 1956 and 1961. Also included are several research papers relating to the effects of hydro-electric dams on fish populations. Many of these reports were produced by the University of British Columbia faculty, including Edgar C. Black and William S. Hoar.

The fonds consists of the original typescript and proofs of Trial of a City and drafts and page proofs of Turvey. The manuscripts date from 1948 to 1952. Included is some correspondence between Birney and Stephen Vicinczey and a poem that Birney submitted to Vicinczey's magazine Exchange.

It includes transcribed typed copies of the complete works of David Crawford (or Crawfurd) (ca. 1700); a copy of an article written by Macaree about Crawford (1961); and photocopies of early political pamphlets by Daniel Defoe (ca. 1700-1714).
