A caption from Alan Haig-Brown reads: "I rode this ferry with Capt. Myerscoup through Active Pass in November of 1995. The Spirit of Vancouver Island and sister ship Spirit of British Columbia were built in 1994. The[y] are 167.5 meters long and carry 470 cars and 2,052 people plus 48 crew."

On the historical photographs of Clay's Wharf, Alan Haig-Brown comments: "We lived there from 1962 to 1964 while I went to school and university in Vancouver. Rent free for caretaking, had use of the little cliner built boat." Of the tall ships, he notes: "Fraser River pilots greeted in the Gulf and then each rode a ship up the river."

File contains scenic photographs of log yarding tugs (including the River Eagle and the Dorothy Mackenzie) in the fog on the Fraser River off New Westminster. There are also three photographs of Alan Haig-Brown in his home office.
