Fonds consists of records generated in the course of the merger and in the first months of life of the IEEE (1962-1963), as well as of the documentation of the two previous societies which constitute two sub-fonds: IRE (1950-1963) and AIEE (1911-1963). The fonds consists of minutes of meetings, as well as of annual report and publications and is arranged in three series: series one dealing with minutes of meetings (1963), series two consisting of annual report (1062-1963) and series three being a miscellanea of publications and leaflets (1960-1963). The sub-fonds IRE and AIEE are subdivided in numerous series.

Minutes and Reports

Series contains minutes books, minutes and annual reports, as well as bylaws and financial statements. For the years from 1911 to 1924 the series is composed of minutes books on which regularly were hand-written the minutes of the "Regular Monthly Meeting of the Vancouver Section." The pages are all numbered with a stamp and sometimes it includes typewritten enclosures. Also attached are some report, as well as the bylaws and bank books. For the years form 1924 to 1944 the series is composed of minutes of meeting, reports and financial statements. Also attached to the minute book for the period 1928-1934 are a leaflet with information on the AIEE organization, a leaflet of the 1932 bylaws and the 1934 annual dinner meeting and some other records containing membership lists. Often attached to the others minutes book are membership lists. For the years from 1950 to 1961-62, the minutes of the executive meetings are separated from the records related to the minutes of the annual reports, which are preserved together with those on financial statements, report on activities and reports in general.

Miscellanea

Series consists of brochures concerning on the Programme Scheduled for the entire season, year by year, from 1924 to 1960 with some lacking program for the seasons 1925-26, 1929-30, 1932-1935, 1936-1939, 1940-1944. The information provided includes the programmed section meeting with the name of the speakers and the eventual title or with specified the kind of activity scheduled; it also contains the schedule for dinner meeting and technical discussion groups as well as the list of the officers for the session. Series contains also one leaflet concerning the rules for 'National and District Prizes.' Series consists also of one list of AIEE Past Chairmen from 1911 to 1947 in double copy and another list from 1911 to the merging, extended to the IEEE officials up to 1968.

Meetings and Conventions

Series consists of records generated in occasion of the various meetings and conventions held, and as a result of these events. It also contains many reports of the annual meetings held in the Vancouver Section. An entire group of records is devoted to the documentation of the organization, economical and logistic, of the Pacific General Meeting 1953 held in Vancouver from 1 to 4 September. There are four General Meetings of the Institute each year. They are the Winter General Meeting, the Summer General Meeting, the Pacific General Meeting and the Fall General Meeting. The Winter Meeting is usually held in New York and the Fall Meeting usually in Chicago. The Summer Meeting, which is the Annual Business Meeting, is held in various cities around the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Correspondence

Series contains records related to the problematic transfer from District 10 to District 9 with correspondence on this matter from 1948 to 1949. The series also contains more general correspondence amongst the Section and the Headquarter, as well as the other Sections and Branches. The correspondence often includes in attachment minutes of General Meetings. It also comprehends notices of Section meetings as well as listing of members. Series consists also of the whole correspondence related to the establishment of the Victoria Sub Section and the subsequent correspondence between the Sub Section and the Vancouver Section from 1949 to 1955.

Correspondence

Series consists of the Section Correspondence of the IRE: it includes letters sent and received by the Secretary, as well as invitations, membership lists, policy statements, lists of the Boarding directors elected each year and of the IRE executive members. Moreover series contains all the correspondence received from the Headquarter in New York. Sporadically copies of the Newsletter are enclosed as attachments to the correspondence.
