The Irving Guttman Collection is a large collection of photographs of different people and places in the opera world. There are two different parts of this photographic collection: The first part of the collection includes pictures of Mr. Guttman directing and coaching opera performers, or posing with opera enthusiasts from across the globe. A large bulk of these first photographs are of Mr. Guttman's production of the operas, Norma, Tosca, Traviatta, and Aida. However, other operas such as Madam Butterfly, Daughter of the Regiment, Othello, Carmen and more are included in the Collection.

The second part of the collection consists of autographed portraits of opera performers, and other operatic stakeholders. The list of operatic singers, conductors, composers and directors, includes but is not limited to: Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Leonard Bernstein, Joan Sutherland, Cristina Deutekom, Montserrat Caballé, John Alexander, Tracy Dahl, Marilyn Horne, Linda Roark-Strummer, Huguette Tourangeau, Renata Tebaldi, Clarice Carson, Regina Resnik, Mary Costa, Irene Salemka, Cecilia Bartoli, Judith Forst, Ermanno Mauro, and Sylvia Sass.

Lastly, there is a collection of congratulatory letters to Mr. Guttman for his 25th anniversary as artistic director of the Edmonton Opera.

The fonds consists of 71 holograph letters from Ethel Wilson to Cheney, as well as correspondence from Wallace Wilson, Mary [Dodds] and Dorothy McNair. There is also correspondence between Nan Cheney and various artists, including Emily Carr, between the years 1938 and 1984. Cheney's subject files on Canadian artists are included in the fonds, along with newspaper and periodical clippings, memorabilia, photographs and manuscripts.

The fonds consists of material arranged in three series: 1) Reviews, programmes, and correspondence concerning the career of Frances Adaskin; 2) Assorted writing by Frances Adaskin; and 3) Audio Tapes.

Fonds consists of documentation of the activities of the UBC Student Christian Movement during the early 1930s and includes a minute book for the SCM “Grad Group” (1930-35), two small SCM promotional pamphlets (1934), and assorted correspondence (1933-34).

The fonds consists of the business records created and/or collected by Arsenal Pulp Press, predominately from the early 1980s to the late 2000s. These records consist of correspondence, manuscripts, proofs, reviews, catalogues, broadsheets, advertisements, flyers, clippings concerning Arsenal publications and the Press, artwork, financial and sales records, ledgers, legal records, minutes and other organizational material.

The fonds was originally divided into the following four series: Correspondence; Editorial; Administrative; and Special projects. The Correspondence series contains the following subseries: General correspondence, Editorial correspondence and Correspondent-specific correspondence. The Editorial series contains the following subseries: Early manuscripts, General literary manuscripts, Published/printed material, Artwork, and Supplementary editorial records. The Administrative series contains the following sub-series: General administrative records, History/operational records, Minutes/agendas and newsletters, Financial records, Ledgers, Legal records, Sales/service fee reports, and Marketing/distribution records. The Special projects series contains three sub-series: Three-Cent Pulp, Arsenal Collaborative Library and the 3-Day Novel Contest. A fifth series was added with the accrual made in 2011, titled Editorial and production.

The fonds consists of typed and handwritten manuscripts of short stories and poems.

Correspondence, clippings, 2 framed calligraphic pieces, 1 framed hand-drawn, hand-coloured map, 1 leatherbound guestbook, 2 scrapbooks, 5 bone folders, 1 leatherbound box, and 8 metal stamps all relating to Dorothy Burnett, a bookbinder who lived and worked in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The fonds consists of notes, manuscripts, drafts, galleys, and correspondence relating to Rule's published and unpublished novels and short stories. The fonds also includes biographical and autobiographical material, college papers, teaching records, non- fiction manuscripts, typescript copies of book reviews by Rule, and personal and professional correspondence. Also included are numerous photographs, maintained both singly and in photograph albums, as well as digital images. Rule's collection of
reviews of her work, audio recordings of interviews and readings, her Orders of Canada and B.C. certificates, and the first XTRA! West Jane Rule Memorial Writer of the Year Award are also included.

The collection is an assemblage of movie memorabilia (predominantly Noir and Western), 20cm x 25cm film-stills, 28 cm x 36 cm lobby cards, and ephemera amassed by Thompson as a part of her research for her books Hard-Boiled and Tall in the Saddle. Additionally, there are Science Fiction stills and posters, Spanish-language lobby cards, 36cm x 91cm insert posters, and miscellaneous stills from other 20th-century cinema.

The fonds consists of records generated through the various activities of the Ceremonies Office. Included in the fonds are administrative records (1964-1984) as well as records that document the activities associated with Congregation (1950-2006), building openings (1951-1986) and numerous functions sponsored by the University (1962-1995). The fonds also include information about honorary degree recipients, congratulatory greetings to Presidents K. George Pedersen (1983), David Strangway (1985) and various other ceremonial activities. This fonds consists predominantly of photographs and other reproductions of Lansdowne’s work which were created over the course of his career. Artwork contained in the fonds include unfinished drawings and sketches, reproductions and prints, as well as art inventory files which provide details of works that were sold, and for specific named projects. The fonds also includes business and personal correspondence, as well as financial records pertaining to the sale of artwork, Lansdowne’s services as a commercial painter, and his business relationship with M.F. Feheley Arts Company Limited and TDF Artists Limited. Records also include biographical information, awards and ephemera, along with publications containing his work, and newspaper clippings about his work and career. Photographs depict family and friends, Lansdowne at work, as well as publicity photographs.

The fonds consists of two sets of 1931 minutes (April and June) of the Association.

The fonds consists of minutes of departmental meetings (1949-1957), correspondence (1945-1956), student records (1948-1957), course records (1948-1957), examinations (1931-1957), material from the President's Committee on Research (1947-1955), applications for positions (1948-1955), departmental subject files (1943-1956), journal reprints and photographs.

Fonds consists of materials documenting John Gordon Spaulding's academic scholarship and career, in particular his Pulpit Publications project, and includes notes, correspondence, published articles, drafts (both handwritten and typescript), computer codes, computer printouts (bound and unbound), and related records. The fonds is organized in three series: College And University Papers (including the sub-series Pomona/Stockton Numbered Files, Other College Files, Toward Dissertation & Dissertation I, and Lectures and Other Professional Papers), Personal Papers, and Cooke / Pulpit Publications (including the sub-series Correspondence, Provenance Studies, General Notes, Drafts, and Printouts, and Bound Computer Printouts). Where Spaulding's original arrangements were still apparent and considered practical, they have been retained – otherwise the files are arranged in chronological order.

Fonds consists exclusively of a series of portfolios documenting BCFGA conventions from 1932 to 2015. These portfolios contain reports and briefs; letters; agendas, proceedings and resolutions; Presidential addresses; committee and subcommittee records.

The collection consists of records relating to the 1935 On-to-Ottawa Trek and its 50th Anniversary. Included are copied posters, newsletters, proclamations, legal documents, and photographs relating to the original Trek as well as audio tapes, clippings and itineraries from the 1985 anniversary events.

The fonds consists of records of the Executive Committee of Graduate Studies (1950-1968), the Committee on Graduate Studies (1964-1967), and the President's Committee of Academic Deans (1969-1974) as well as applications for graduate studies (1932-1951).

The fonds consists of scrapbooks, clippings, photographs, correspondence, speeches, publications and awards that chronicle Reads career as a rower and, more particularly as a rowing coach.

The collection consists of records from both the Council for Canadian Unity and the Task Force on Canadian Unity. Connaghan assembled this collection of correspondence, printed material and clippings, which date from 1975 to 1980.

Within the fonds there are appointment books recording information about Dave Barrett's private and political life, personal records, records created by Dave Barrett in the course of creating his autobiography, records created during Mr . The fonds consists of records chronicling various facets of Howard's long career in mining-related activities. It includes material from his student days, his years at Eldorado Gold Mines, and his years as a professor at the University of British Columbia. The fonds includes photographs reflecting the development of mining equipment and technology. In particular, the numerous photographs from Howard's Eldorado days (1942-1946) depict not only mining operations but also capture aspects of social life in Port Radium, a remote community near the Arctic Circle.

The fonds consists of a bound minute book (1934-1944) and a bound account book (1934-1944).

The fonds consists of a 24-page dossier that summarizes operations at the Nanaimo Electric Light, Power and Heating Company through text, photographs, and a map. The dossier was put together prior to the merger of Nanaimo Electric Light, Power and Heating Company with Duncan Utilities Power Limited, forming Nanaimo Duncan Utilities Limited in July 1934.

The collection consists of publications and brochures accumulated by Graham Drew through his work with the UBC Department of University Extension (later Continuing Education). The collection also includes photographs and slides relating to University Extension short courses.

This material was created and compiled in the course of research for the preparation, firstly, of a bibliography of Roderick Haig-Brown’s writings, and secondly, for a biography of Haig-Brown.

Fonds consists of minutes (1951-1955), records of productions (primarily financial) (1934-1963), and miscellaneous other records generated by the Players' Club Alumni.

The fonds contains essays, lab notes, class notes and theses created and acquired by Lois and Ralph during their time as post-secondary students. The fonds is divided into two series: Ralph Cudmore’s Student Records and Lois Cudmore’s Student Records. The archivist arranged the records of Lois and Ralph by chronological order and course name where applicable.

The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, newsletters, and other materials related to the UBC graduating class of 1935 and the various reunions and alumni activities associated with that class.

This fonds consists of 12 series; meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, welfare funds, videos, regulations and legislation, related organizations, general business records, land referrals, herring (roe), financial, First Nations, and salmon. Each of the series relates to the F.V.O.A.'s work with fishing and water concerns. The same issues defined within each of these series are also documented through the newspaper clippings. The minutes span over 40 years, beginning in 1938, and include general, committee, director's and membership meetings. The fonds also includes copies of legislation and regulations relating to various fishing and water related concerns, such as ports and harbours, maritime codes, vessel construction, shipping, and research. The F.V.O.A.'s ongoing cooperative work with relevant outside groups is documented through numerous drafts, proposals, agreements, reports, and correspondence. The videos are of the Skeena River Steelhead, Salmon, the Sportfish Observer Program and First Nations fishing rights. There is a large amount of land referral material (the application for use of Crown land) including several maps. With reference directly to fish; there is information on herring (roe) related issues, and a significant amount of documents covering Salmon. A vast portion of the Salmon series deals with Canadian-U.S. negotiations regarding poaching, water boundaries, salmon shares, runs and catches. The fonds provides overall insight into the workings of the F.V.O.A.

The fonds consists of Bescoby's original research notes for her M.A. thesis in history.

Fonds consists primarily of material related to Rush's activities as a leader of the CCP, political activist and writer in Vancouver from 1935 to 1996. There is also a personal/biographical series of records which detail the events of Rush's life. Other textual series in this fonds contain drafts of Rush's writings and public speeches, his correspondence, his reports and speeches to party conventions, and his published materials. There is a photographs series which details Rush's various editorial political trips to socialist countries during the Cold War. The memorabilia series also contains material related to Rush's trips abroad. There are pins, medals and commemorative coins from China, Vietnam and the Soviet Union. Finally, an audiocassette series contains recordings of some of Rush's speeches during the 1970s and 1980s.

The fonds consists of scrapbooks constructed by members of the Theta Chapter of the Phrateres, from some of the sub-chapters, and from the UCLA Alpha chapter, to document their activities. Scrapbooks are composed of clippings, pamphlets, photographs, and drawings relating to various charitable and social events sponsored by the organization. The records also include minutes from Theta Chapter and Presidents' and Social Reports. Other materials include membership lists, a guest book for an alumni tea, and handbooks for the UBC Theta Chapter and for the University of Washington chapter.

Fonds consists of studies, plans, reports, minutes, surveys, speeches, articles, and published materials pertaining to the Office of Academic Planning (1956-1975), the B.C. Forecasting Committee (1971-1981), the Vancouver Governmental Commission (1979), and the UBC Pension Board (1966-1986), notebooks from his research for an M.A. and Ph.D. at Harvard. Fonds also includes collected material relating to pension plans and value-added tax and a wide variety of printed and published material pertaining to the broad topic of academic development (1958-1975).

Fonds includes correspondence between the Fee Packaging Service Corporation and its employees (primarily R.F. Marshall) as well as clients. Correspondence between the company and its clients include letters, telegrams and questionnaires pertaining to the installation of machinery for packaging lard or other compounds. The corporation's principle customers included Swift and Company, Proctor and Gamble Company and Wilson and Company. The Fee Packaging Service Corporation also corresponded with other companies such as Oscar Mayer, Hormel Company, and Bell Packing Company.

Fonds illustrates James R. Stanton’s personal life and guiding business in Knight Inlet, British Columbia. It consists of an unpublished biography written by Stanton (including a foreword by R.M. Lorentsen and an epilogue by Blair Mclean), photographs selected by Stanton for his manuscript, and additional photographs and slides of the Stanton family.

Fonds consists of materials that document the personal and professional activities of Abraham Rogatnick and includes handwritten notes and notebooks on historical and architectural subjects, index cards, typewritten speeches, writings, correspondence, and photographs.
