A press clipping sent to Coupland's parents

Contains a brief letter sent to Coupland's parents, accompanying a clipping in which Coupland's novel is referenced (Pinkerton, James P. "Economy Bites the Edge Off Generation X" Los Angeles Times, February 24, 1994, B19).

Finalist's congratulation letter from Stephen Leacock Association

Contains a letter from Judith Rapson (Award Committee, Chair) of the Stephen Leacock Association congratulating Coupland for being a finalist for the 2007 Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, for his novel JPod. Ultimately, Coupland did not win the award that year (Stuart McLean did).

House of Anansi letter

Contains a handwritten letter from Lynn Henry, Publisher with House of Anansi, asking Coupland to take a look at an enclosed novel manuscript from Zoe Whittall (not included here), and possibly offer a quote.

Letter and clipping sent to Coupland's parents

Contains a brief letter sent to "Dr. and Mrs. D.C.T Coupland" that includes a press clipping about Coupland's Generation X (Nickle, David. "Never mind Generation X, what about the Y kids?" North York Mirror, July 18, 1992, p. 5).

Letter from Herbert H. Solway

Contains a handwritten note thanking Coupland for doing a "beautiful job of capturing Terry" Fox in his book, Terry. The brief and familiar nature of the note, and the lack of return address or envelope suggest that Coupland and Solway may have known each other.

Simon Fraser University convocation correspondence

File contains two brief letters - the first is a letter from John Ralston Sau (forwarded by his assistant) addressed to the Chancellor of SFU, apologizing for being unable to attend Coupland's conferment ceremony. The second is a congratulations from the SFU Alumni Association, which orginally included a certificate and pin (not included in this file).

Sudent fan letter

Includes a letter and envelope from a young student from Calgary, thanking Coupland for writing the book "Terry."

The brief letter concludes with the following: "In conclusion, I'll offer my help anytime you need it."

Two letters

Contains two letters. The first is from Michael J. Audain (May 29, 2007), congratulating Coupland on receiving an honorary degree from Simon Fraser University. The second letter is from Antony Korner of Artforum International (January 1, 2007), enclosing Coupland's press card for 2007 (press card not included in the file).

Two personal notes

Contains a brief note that originally accompanied an event invite (not included) forwarded to Coupland because the senders thought he might like the design (undated), and a thank you card from someone named Lynn (possibly author Lynn Coady?) thanking Coupland for his blurb, April 1, 2012.
