The fonds of the Faculty of Medicine includes records which document the administrative and operational activities, actions and interests of the Faculty. Such records pertain to the establishment and organization of the Faculty; the development and actions of the Facultys governing bodies and committees; the planning, development and construction of various Faculty buildings such as the University Hospital, the I.R.C. Centre, the Basic Medical Sciences buildings and the Health Sciences Centre. These records also refer to the use of regional hospitals as clinical teaching hospitals and to relations between the Faculty and the University at large; as well as, with other university medical schools, governments, medical and related professions, associations and societies, businesses and hospitals. The records within this fonds also pertain to the Facultys receipt of gifts and donations, its departmental / divisional research endeavors and it applications for, and receipt of, awards for professional distinction. Types of material found in the Faculty of Medicine fonds include: correspondence, working papers, minutes, photographs, newspaper clippings, memorandum, agendas, studies, internal reports and reviews, applications, protocols and surveys. The fonds has been arranged into the following series: Historical Material; Faculty Governance; Committees; General Office Files; Dean of Medicine; and Photographs.

Fonds consists of various revised constitutions, minutes, annual reports of the Club, its committees and interest groups, financial records (including bound ledgers), correspondence, membership lists, newsletters, programmes (including photographs used in their production), a videotape of the Club's 75th-anniversary banquet, and scrapbooks. The increase in Club membership parallels the growth and development of the University. The records reflect many of the changes which have taken place over the years. They provide an insight into the concerns and activities of educated women through two world wars and the depression and record some of their contributions to university life.

Fonds consists of audio recordings of interviews done with seven members of the Faculty Women’s Club.

The collection consists of materials relating to the Committee on Continuing and Community Education activities in British Columbia (the Faris Committee), collected and maintained by Committee member Gordon Selman. It includes copies of briefs submitted to the Committee, correspondence, reports, and other documents relevant to the Committee's investigations. The collection is arranged in three series: briefs, letters, and miscellaneous.

The collection reflects the careers and interests of the Farris family, who were prominent members of the Vancouver elite. Their status as a family of lawyers and educated individuals often allowed them the opportunity to travel and attend noted events such as the Royal Ascot Racecourse, and encounter several distinguished individuals, such as Prime Ministers Louis St. Laurent and Pierre Trudeau, Lieutenant Governor Walter Owen, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The collection consists chiefly of correspondence, photographs, matters of estate, family history, notebooks, manuscripts, legal memorabilia, and family memorabilia of John Wallace de Beque Farris, Evlyn Keirstad Farris, John Lauchlan Farris, and Dorothy Farris.

The fonds consists of a photocopy of the first of three volumes of Bobillier's diary describing his journey from France to the Yukon in 1939 and his subsequent missionary activities on behalf of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in British Columbia and the Yukon.

The collection consists of assorted research materials assembled by Runnalls, relating to the history of the United Church in British Columbia.

Volunteer members and elected directors of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) created and kept records as part of their work carrying out the Federation’s major mandate: organizing mountain clubs from throughout the province of British Columbia to represent collective interests for self-propelled access to wilderness areas.

Ranging in date from the 1970’s to ca. 2018, records in the fonds document the FMCBC’s major activities in support of their mandate: administrative and executive activities, the creation of various committees and work undertaken by these committees, advocacy for various lands and parks throughout the province to be considered and maintained for public access, and educating and communicating to both members and the public on topics of relevant interest.

While the FMCBC as an organizational body created the majority of these records, some records in the fonds were created by related organizations, such as the British Columbia Mountaineering Club, governmental committees, or natural resource extraction companies. The majority of records within the fonds are textual, though some other record types are present, including maps, photographs and ephemera.

The fonds consists of the company minute book (1936-1945) for the Federationist Publishing Company.

Fonds includes correspondence between the Fee Packaging Service Corporation and its employees (primarily R.F. Marshall) as well as clients. Correspondence between the company and its clients include letters, telegrams and questionnaires pertaining to the installation of machinery for packaging lard or other compounds. The corporation's principle customers included Swift and Company, Proctor and Gamble Company and Wilson and Company. The Fee Packaging Service Corporation also corresponded with other companies such as Oscar Mayer, Hormel Company, and Bell Packing Company.

The fonds consists of printed programs (1963-1969, 1971) and un-dated broadside copies of poems.

The fonds consists of Holderness' manuscript diary and expense account of a business trip to Canada and the United States in connection with the timber trade in 1837. He took particular note of his means of transport, which included steamer, railroads, schooners, canal boats, stage coaches, wagons, gigs and horses. The diary provides an excellent description of travel in North America at that time.

The fonds consists of documents generated in the course of Wollaston's personal and prospecting activities in the Fairview-Similkameen (1898) and western Vancouver Island areas (1899), and his subsequent business activities in Victoria. Fonds includes diaries and accounts.

Fonds consists of records produced by or for UBC Financial Services which document the University’s finances, including annual financial reports and statements, budgets, appraisals, and staff training. The records are arranged in four series: Financial Reports and Statements, Budgets, Appraisement, and Training Documentation.

The collection consists of materials created or acquired by Juta Kitching throughout her membership or role in FUSAC. The collection consists of textual, both typewritten and handwritten, as well as photographs (prints & negatives) and an audio recording. The textual information is a mixture of English, Finnish, Hungarian and Estonian. The collection is organized in the following series: Annual Conferences and Operational Proceedings.

Fonds consists of textual records that document the origins, development, and activities of the Fisheries Centre, particularly its predecessor programmes: the Institute of Fisheries and the Institute of Animal Resource Ecology. The records include correspondence, reports, financial statements, grant documentation, minutes and agendas, course outlines, and published materials.

The fonds consists of records generated by the FCBC and its predecessor bodies, the FABC and the SCOC. Records of the SCOC include minutes and some records pertaining to its bargaining agent, regulatory, and fishing development and protection activities. Records of the FABC include minutes, correspondence, financial and other administrative records, as well as material pertaining to its various functions. This includes records pertaining to its public relations activities, and its roles as an industry bargaining agency, as an industry representative on international treaties and fisheries commissions, and as a liaison and lobby group with the federal, provincial and municipal governments on issues such as resource protection and government safety and health regulations. FCBC records relate to its pursuance of matters related to the West Coast fishing industry, including records concerning its participation in various federal and provincial meetings, issues related to the native fishery, and minutes of various committees through which the FCBC conducted its affairs.

This fonds consists of 12 series; meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, welfare funds, videos, regulations and legislation, related organizations, general business records, land referrals, herring (roe), financial, First Nations, and salmon. Each of the series relates to the F.V.O.A.'s work with fishing and water concerns. The same issues defined within each of these series are also documented through the newspaper clippings. The minutes span over 40 years, beginning in 1938, and include general, committee, director's and membership meetings. The fonds also includes copies of legislation and regulations relating to various fishing and water related concerns, such as ports and harbours, maritime codes, vessel construction, shipping, and research. The F.V.O.A.'s ongoing cooperative work with relevant outside groups is documented through numerous drafts, proposals, agreements, reports, and correspondence. The videos are of the Skeena River Steelhead, Salmon, the Sportfish Observer Program and First Nations fishing rights. There is a large amount of land referral material (the application for use of Crown land) including several maps. With reference directly to fish; there is information on herring (roe) related issues, and a significant amount of documents covering Salmon. A vast portion of the Salmon series deals with Canadian-U.S. negotiations regarding poaching, water boundaries, salmon shares, runs and catches. The fonds provides overall insight into the workings of the F.V.O.A.

The fonds contains correspondence, contracts and royalty information, reviews, research notes, drafts of various manuscripts and productions, and ephemera from speaking engagements. It consists of the following series: “General Correspondence, contractual information, publicity, and etc.,” “Novels,” “Plays,” “Radio Productions,” “Children’s Books,” “Multimedia”, and “Photographs".

Collection contains correspondence relating to Florence Nightingale. The majority of the letters are addressed to Nightingale while others are sent from her or involve other correspondents discussing Nightingale. Letters date from 1877 to 1965. There are also newspaper clippings, transcripts, notes, and envelopes that all relate to Florence Nightingale. There are also photographs of Florence Nightingale and prominent people in her life.

The fonds consists primarily of clippings and articles relating to international affairs, Chinese customs preserved in Canada, life in Vancouver's China Town and social and political problems confronted by Chinese Canadians. Further, the fonds also contains many complete copies of the Chinatown newspaper, The Chinese Voice; records related to Foon Sien Wong's Chinatown activities through the Vancouver Unity Association, the Canadian Centennial Planning Committee, and other related groups.

Records primarily include research on various individuals involved in the forest industry of British Columbia from the 1930s to the 1970s. These research materials have been gathered and organized by members of the association and include original photographic prints, photograph reprints, correspondence, and written or recorded oral testimonies and interviews.

The fonds consists of by-laws, membership lists, minutes, correspondence, reference files, and press clippings relating to the administration and operations of the Fort Langley and District Board of Trade between 1947 and 1965.

The fonds consists of material arranged in three series: 1) Reviews, programmes, and correspondence concerning the career of Frances Adaskin; 2) Assorted writing by Frances Adaskin; and 3) Audio Tapes.

The fonds consists of research materials gathered by Johnson for his biography of John Jessop (1971), records relating to teacher education in British Columbia (1946- 1970), correspondence concerning the establishment of UBC's Faculty of Education (1955-1956), and a collection of his speeches (1958-1965). In addition, the fonds includes a recording of a broadcast interview with Johnson relating to his study of the life of John Jessup.

The fonds primarily consists of records from the Francis Millerd and Company Limited (Francis Millerd & Co. Ltd.) business. These records mostly relate to the company and its relationship with its fishermen. The two primary functions of Francis Millerd & Co. Ltd. were the processing of fish and the contracting of fishermen to supply these fish. The fish processed were mainly varieties of salmon, as well as herring, clams, bloaters, sardines, dog fish, kippers, and silvets. Processing mainly took the form of canning, but smoking, curing, and freezing was also used. Some fishermen merely sold their fish to the company while others used company gear or vessels, often on mortgage plans or promisary notes. Others worked for hourly wages. The company possessed at least one cannery, the Great Northern Cannery, which Millerd had purchased in 1923. Until the late 1930s, the company made its own cans from sheets of tin. There were one hundred employees at the time of its sale in 1968. A packer vessel named Great Northern 8 was associated with this cannery, most likely preceded by similarly named vessels.

Other records in this fonds include materials which reflect on Millerd's activities and interests within the Canadian fishing and canning industries.

The fonds consists of five series titled: Early fishing company ventures; Francis Millerd and Company Limited papers; Francis Millerd Papers; Francis Millerd journals and day planners; and Publications produced by and for other agencies. The majority of the records within this fonds contain day to day administrative and financial records of Francis Millerd & Co. Ltd., including ledgers, mortgages, purchasing transactions, other contracts and agreements, log books, documents concerning company property and promisary notes. Other documents include vessel licenses, bills of sale, letters, rough notes, receipts, blueprints, and property appraisals.

Other records in the fonds include photographs, journals, day planners, research papers, yearbooks, and government-produced acts, regulations, news releases and reports.

Fonds illustrates Frank Charnley's career and interests as a mathematician, sheep rancher, beekeeper and writer, as well as records relating to his family, predominately from his retirement years. Photographs showcase Charnley at his Barnston Island home, presumably in the 1960s. Fonds is organized into the following series: Correspondence; Mathematical notes; Creative writing; Beekeeping records; Sheep ranching records; Miscellaneous records; Photographs; University records; and Reports authored by Frank Charnley.

The fonds consists of correspondence, subject files and pamphlets arising from Buck's various interests (1920-1950). Buck organized most of his papers into subject files relating to his activities and arranged them in alphabetical order. The files, in many instances, contain correspondence, reports and memos. The fonds also includes maps, plans, and posters, as well as photographs.

The fonds consists of diaries, photographs, articles, speeches and reports, and miscellaneous material, all of which document Frank F. Wesbrook’s personal and professional activities. Also included are a collection of off-prints of scholarly articles relating to a variety of medical topics that Wesbrook collected or in some cases wrote.

The fonds is comprised of materials related to Brown's personal life (mostly recorded through photography) and his various professional positions, particularly his role in the White Pass & Yukon Corporation and its expansion into containerized shipping.

Approximately one third of the fonds is materials that have been condensed by Brown's descendants and filed chronologically. This portion has been called the Chronological papers, and materials related to all other series may be found there, as well as a wide range of personal materials.

The rest of the fonds has been divided into 10 series of: general correspondence; papers from Brown's two government posts; his work for the White Pass & Yukon Corp.; his work for MacMillan, Bloedel, and Powell River; his work as director for other companies; subject files related to his interests; speeches and articles he wrote; personal papers; and slides (both personal and professional).

The fonds consists of a journal of a trip from London to Naples (1840-1843) and letters from Parish to his father during his employment in the Consular Department in China (1844-1852).

The fonds consists of scrapbooks, clippings, photographs, correspondence, speeches, publications and awards that chronicle Reads career as a rower and, more particularly as a rowing coach.

Fonds also includes personal correspondence and professional correspondence concerning Gnup's responsibilities as coach of the UBC Thunderbirds. The fonds consists of a 163-page typed manuscript entitled Burns and the Messiah (ca. 1953), correspondence, and a newspaper clipping.

Fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings and numerous reports generated between 1956 and 1961. Also included are several research papers relating to the effects of hydro-electric dams on fish populations. Many of these reports were produced by the University of British Columbia faculty, including Edgar C. Black and William S. Hoar.

Fonds consists of reports and printed material from the Fraser River Model Project (1948-1963) acquired from Dr. Pretious and the Applied Science Reading Room. The classification system is Pretious's own. The records were maintained in the order they were received.

Collection consists of 56 documents which mostly concern Frederic Schiller Lee’s capabilities as a fundraiser for the International Physiological Conference in the eastern United States in 1929. The majority of the collection is letters from prominent physiologists.

The fonds consist of scrapbooks of clippings, correspondence, photographs, and programs relating to the Players' Club's activities and the Frederic Wood Theatre's construction.

The fonds consists of biographical information about Clement, copies of speeches (1942-1955) and notes from his first lecture on agricultural economics given at Macdonald College in 1913. The fonds also includes reminiscences of F.F. Wesbrook, L.S. Klinck and early experiences at UBC.
