This fonds consists of records related to Bruce Devitt’s activities in the field of forestry in British Columbia as well as his public service in managing critical environmental issues in the Pacific Northwest. The fonds includes news clippings, research papers, letters, transparencies for presentations, and meeting minutes, among other textual content. The photographic material encompasses black and white and color photos in a variety of sizes as well as slides, all pictures pertain to forestry practice in British Columbia.

The fonds consists of the following series: Devitt’s lectures, presentations, and interviews; research notes; survey photography; and Bill Young.

Lodgepole Pine Report

Bruce Devitt completed this report in the spring of 1957 for credit in the Forestry 455 course, which was offered by the UBC Faculty of Forestry. The report is titled: "A Preliminary Attempt to Classify the Lodgepole Pine Stands of the Interior of British Columbia - A View Towards Planned Silviculture."

Research Notes

The Research Notes series includes material compiled by Devitt for presentations and reports delivered at meetings such as the Public Policy National Resources Conferences in 1981 and on a more regular basis at the annual meetings of the Association of BC Professional Foresters. News clipping citing Devitt and/or offering a general overview of work he has conducted also figure in this series.
