Albert Reeve was born in Toronto on February 13, 1936. He grew up in Northern Ontario, where he attended primary school in Timmins and New Liskeard. He graduated from high school in North Bay, before completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1961. Between 1961 and 2000 Reeve was a self-employed mining geologist, engaged in mineral exploration and development work all across North America, although the primary focus of his activity was in British Columbia. From 1978 to 1985 he served as president of the Blackdome Mining Corporation, and was in full charge of exploration, development, feasibility studies and financing of the Blackdome Gold Mine. Albert Reeve is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He was the recipient of the E.A. Sholz medal in 1991, an award presented by the B.C. and Yukon Chamber of Mines for outstanding contribution to mine development. Reeve is currently retired from active business and lives with his wife, Linda, in Gibsons, British Columbia.
