History

Scharley Bryce Brown organized BC’s Graduate Nurses Association in 1912. In 1918 a Registered Nurses Act was passed to form the RNABC. Provincial legislation was enacted in 2005 to create the College of Registered Nurses of BC (CRNBC) from the RNABC. On September 4, 2018 the BC College of Nursing Professionals was formed through an amalgamation of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC, the College of Registered Nurses of BC and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC.
