Seeking Refuge is a graphic novel written by Irene N. Watts and illustrated by Kathryn Shoemaker. Published in 2016, the work is a sequel to the 2008 graphic novel Good-bye Marianne, and it is an adaptation of Watts' 2000 novel Remember Me. The work tells the story of a young refugee relocated as part of the Kindertransport prior to World War II.

Records in the series include the original art and sketches by Shoemaker (done in pencil) and manuscript by Watts, as well as correspondence between the writer, illustrator, and publisher, and various drafts, corrections, proofs, and research material. Research materials include items used by Shoemaker for illustrations, as well as materials originally belonging to the author, Irene N. Watts, and used to produce Remember Me and Seeking Refuge. These include transit and travel guides, maps, and informally and formally published writing about wartime experiences, particularly focused on the experiences of children.

Together, the files of the series covers the production of Seeking Refuge, from early text to final art, and illustrates much of the creative process by and between Watts and Shoemaker, including transitioning from print to graphic novel, developing graphics, and fitting illustration and text.

Waddell chaired the Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs from 1996-1997 (36th Parliament, first and second sessions) during its inquiry into treaty negotiations and the Nisga'a Agreement-in-Principle and Final Agreement. The contents of this series reflect the activities the committee participated in, such as transcripts, reports, submissions and correspondence to the committee, and itineraries/briefings for the public hearings.

This series includes correspondence and other records related to Harris and his dealings with the Norman & Co. Mining and Stock Brokers. There are also personal letters between Norman and Harris’ wife Alma after Harris’ death.

This series includes articles of association, bylaws, voter’s lists, minutes from general meetings, committee reports and resolutions and financial records. In addition, there is correspondence, minutes and other records relating to an eight hour shift dispute which occurred from 1899-1900. Of particular interest are the records of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency and the Thiel Detective Services Company. These relate to the Coeur d’Alenes riot and the men working at the time. Operative reports regarding union meetings are included.

Series relates to silvicultural practices and information used by Western Forest Products and its predecessors. Series consists of files related to Simon Fraser University’s establishment of an endowed chair to honour J. S. Woodsworth, Canadian statesman, assisted by a committee with Thomas Berger, chairman. Files include correspondence, pamphlets, posters, and other material concerning the J. S. Woodsworth Endowment Fund in the Humanities.

As a result, the creator filed many of the documents together. They have been maintained as a separate, integrated series in order to reflect the original organizational system utilized by Blades.

Series consists of newspaper clippings, newsletters, press releases, correspondence, reports, submissions, and copies of legislation generated during debate over the proposed development of the Kamloops on the Lake project. The series includes copies of the Kamlands Holdings Inc. (Pagebrook Inc.) application for the rezoning of lands which were protected under the Agricultural Land Reserve [ALR]. Other records include reports and correspondence from the Agricultural Land Commission, as well as copies of reports from consultants who researched the agricultural and economic “value” of the land in question. The series includes the initial Rankin Report on the Six Mile Ranch property and the French Report which critiqued the findings published in Rankin’s provincial-government initiated study. The series also includes documents from the Perry Commission including Commissioner David Perry’s final report to the provincial government and numerous submissions made by members of the public to the commission. Sawicki resigned her position as parliamentary secretary over the decision of the provincial government to invoke the Provincial Interest clause as means of overriding ALR legislation. Once the issue was put to a public inquiry, Sawicki’s resignation enabled her to participate in the ensuing debate. The series contains correspondence, personal notes, and speeches reflecting Sawicki’s participation in these events as well as correspondence to and from other NDP MLAs and ministers. Of special interest are the caucus briefings which outline both the Cabinet’s position and Sawciki’s.

Series consists of color 35 mm slides shot by Dorse throughout British Columbia. Most of the slides have a date stamp on them, in addition to a four digit identification number. Generally, slides with the same four digit number also have the same date. No known documentation exists for these numbers however. The slides came to Rare Books and Special Collections in slide boxes that were mostly grouped by these numbers and by dates, but were not arranged in numerical or chronological order. The slides have been re-housed for preservation purposes, but this original grouping and arrangement has been maintained.
