Plaintiff had erected and maintained a Hotel on Wharf Street in Victoria which did quite well, being in a location beside the harbour and near the bridge. However, the Defendants then constructed a bar across the bridge which "entirely intercepts and obstructs the transit and traffic of vehicle," they no longer travel in front of the Plaintiffs hotel and his business as Innkeeper has thereby been greatly injured as a result.
