W.H. White manuscripts

This series is composed of the manuscripts of published and unpublished material written by W. H. White. The notebooks sub-series includes the "Dorothy", "Black", and "White" notebooks, in which W. H. White documents his relationship with D.V. White. For the published materials sub-series, file titles and dates were supplied by D. V. White. With the exception of "Notes on Shelley" and "A Visit to Carlyle" these items were all included in "Last Pages from a Journal". "A Visit to Carlyle" was published in "Pages from a Journal".

W.H. White and D.V. White correspondence

Series is composed of incoming correspondence and drafts and originals of outgoing correspondence to and from William Hale White and/or Dorothy Vernon White. The large majority of files are W.H. White's incoming and outgoing correspondence . Correspondents include W.H. White's literary and other friends, communications with publishers, and with family members. Some files include correspondence with both W .H. White and D.V. White.

Correspondence regarding the transfer of copyright of W.H. White's translation into English of Spinoza's <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ethics</span>, <span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Autobiography of Mark Rutherford</span>, <span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Deliverance</span>, <span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Revolution in Tanner's Lane</span>, and <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Catherine Furze</span> back to W.H. White. (These rights were subsequently transferred to Thomas Fisher Unwin, Publishers, see below). The file is largely comprised of incoming and drafts of outgoing correspondence, but includes White's account statements.

W.G. Burch fonds

Many of the records in this fonds were used in relation to Burch’s autobiography, and therefore pertain to his childhood, education, navy service, and largely to his career as a forester. These records include genealogical research materials, photographs, educational certificates, navy service records, and textual documentation of his career and interests in forestry. It also reflects other projects undertaken by Burch, such as the Working Forest publication, a history of South Vancouver Island, as well as papers, research, correspondence, and speeches. The fonds is divided into four series: Biographical materials; Papers, speeches and correspondence; British Columbia Forest Products; South Vancouver Island history; and The Working Forest project.
