Taped on verso: "Please give names of and explain these piers, indicating them for our present convenience as 1, 2, 3 and 4, reading from the area of smoke at left-handed side. Also what are two areas of water in the background, and special points of interest in the railway portion running under the approach of the pier?
We do not suppose that it would be possible for you to procure, through some Oriental lines, pictures of boats with Canadian grain entering foreign harbors, but it would be the last link in our chain, so we venture to place the suggestion before you."
