Committees.

Series contains records relating to committees in the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingle Association of British Columbia. Material consists of lists of committees under the CRCSA, list of committee members, and the association’s by-laws, which list the duties and responsibilities of the committees.

Series contains records from the Council of Forest Industries committees. Materials include minutes, agendas, reports, and recommendations made by various committees including the Transition committee, the Steering Committee, CHIP Export Advisory committee, Canada’s Forest Philosophy Roundtable and the Shingle and Shake Promotion Committee and alternates.

Complaints and inquiries.

Series contains complaints and inquiries made to the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association. Materials consist of inquiries and complaints regarding the selling of British Columbia timber, information request about B.C. Lumber and Shingles from European countries, the Australian Tariff Board Enquiry lists of soft and hard wood varieties in British Columbia, and instructional booklets on a variety of different forestry related topics.

Conferences.

Series contains conference and convention documents relating to the Council of Forest Industries. Material consists of a submission to the British Columbia Round Table on the Economy and Environment from COFI and notes from a conference call regarding Meech Lake.

Consolidated Red Cedar and Shingle Association of British Columbia sous-fonds.

Sous-fonds reflects the organization, function, and activities of the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingles Association of British Columbia (CRCSA). Materials include circulars generated by the association, correspondence on the topic of shingles, reports on shingle production on the Pacific Coast, cost of shingles, and history of shingle control, projects including one dedicated to the Cedar Canoe Exhibit in Staley Park, transcripts from the Sloan Commission, briefs, bulletins, scrapbooks with forestry related articles pasted on the pages, lists of shingle mills, financial records, advertising and trademark records relating to Edgewood and minutes of the associations committees.
The sous-fonds is divided into ten series: scrapbooks, financial records, projects, correspondence, minutes, briefs, bulletins, Edgewood, reports, Sloan commission, circulars, and lists.

Conventions and conferences.

Series includes convention information relating to the British Columbia Lumber Association. Materials consists of detailed accounts of the proceedings of the convention, the convention’s program, a list of members present, a speech by A.D. McRae about lumber business in North America and a letter between L.R. Andrews and H.V. Mackin.

Correspondence.

Series consists of correspondence concerning the meeting dates and times of committees, draft declaration and by-laws for the association, correspondence concerning the appointment of new directors, that concerning the matters necessary to complete the incorporation and organization of the association, the promotion of the association, correspondence regarding standards and various booklets between the United States Government and CRCSA, regarding shingle grading, and correspondence with lawyers regarding the duty of shingles.

Correspondence.

Series includes correspondence, letters, and memoranda relating to the British Columbia Lumber Association. Materials consists of incoming correspondence from forestry associations, annual general meeting notices with members of the association, a reminder for registrations, correspondence concerning the history and the nomination and election of BCLMA members, correspondences and letters concerning Australia’s tariff policy, correspondence regarding the Timber Industries Council of British Columbia, correspondence with the Medical Services Association, correspondence regarding medical insurance and salaries, and overseas correspondence to BCLMA’s partners in the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Russia, and Japan.

Series contains memoranda and correspondence relating to the Council of Forest Industries. Material consists of correspondence with the Honourable Jean-Luc Pepin, correspondence concerning the cost of promoting forestry overseas, memos concerning the United States legislative process, correspondence of the Cooperative Overseas Promotion, correspondence and memoranda regarding the Future History Project and correspondence regarding Canadian lumber dispute, correspondence regarding Mike Aspey’s participation at Meech Lake, correspondence and memos with the Shingle and Handsplit Shake Bureau, correspondence regarding the proper packaging and labelling of shingle and shakes, correspondence and examples of shingle company shipping labels, memos and correspondence with Arnold Porter and COFI regarding the Shingle and Shakes inquiry, correspondence concerning overseas market development and missions with foreign countries, and N.R. Dustings personal correspondences.
