This fonds consists of 12 series; meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, welfare funds, videos, regulations and legislation, related organizations, general business records, land referrals, herring (roe), financial, First Nations, and salmon. Each of the series relates to the F.V.O.A.'s work with fishing and water concerns. The same issues defined within each of these series are also documented through the newspaper clippings. The minutes span over 40 years, beginning in 1938, and include general, committee, director's and membership meetings. The fonds also includes copies of legislation and regulations relating to various fishing and water related concerns, such as ports and harbours, maritime codes, vessel construction, shipping, and research. The F.V.O.A.'s ongoing cooperative work with relevant outside groups is documented through numerous drafts, proposals, agreements, reports, and correspondence. The videos are of the Skeena River Steelhead, Salmon, the Sportfish Observer Program and First Nations fishing rights. There is a large amount of land referral material (the application for use of Crown land) including several maps. With reference directly to fish; there is information on herring (roe) related issues, and a significant amount of documents covering Salmon. A vast portion of the Salmon series deals with Canadian-U.S. negotiations regarding poaching, water boundaries, salmon shares, runs and catches. The fonds provides overall insight into the workings of the F.V.O.A.

The fonds consists of records generated by the FCBC and its predecessor bodies, the FABC and the SCOC. Records of the SCOC include minutes and some records pertaining to its bargaining agent, regulatory, and fishing development and protection activities. Records of the FABC include minutes, correspondence, financial and other administrative records, as well as material pertaining to its various functions. This includes records pertaining to its public relations activities, and its roles as an industry bargaining agency, as an industry representative on international treaties and fisheries commissions, and as a liaison and lobby group with the federal, provincial and municipal governments on issues such as resource protection and government safety and health regulations. FCBC records relate to its pursuance of matters related to the West Coast fishing industry, including records concerning its participation in various federal and provincial meetings, issues related to the native fishery, and minutes of various committees through which the FCBC conducted its affairs.

The fonds consists of documents generated in the course of Wollaston's personal and prospecting activities in the Fairview-Similkameen (1898) and western Vancouver Island areas (1899), and his subsequent business activities in Victoria. Fonds includes diaries and accounts.

The fonds consists of Holderness' manuscript diary and expense account of a business trip to Canada and the United States in connection with the timber trade in 1837. He took particular note of his means of transport, which included steamer, railroads, schooners, canal boats, stage coaches, wagons, gigs and horses. The diary provides an excellent description of travel in North America at that time.

Fonds includes correspondence between the Fee Packaging Service Corporation and its employees (primarily R.F. Marshall) as well as clients. Correspondence between the company and its clients include letters, telegrams and questionnaires pertaining to the installation of machinery for packaging lard or other compounds. The corporation's principle customers included Swift and Company, Proctor and Gamble Company and Wilson and Company. The Fee Packaging Service Corporation also corresponded with other companies such as Oscar Mayer, Hormel Company, and Bell Packing Company.

The fonds consists of the company minute book (1936-1945) for the Federationist Publishing Company.

Volunteer members and elected directors of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) created and kept records as part of their work carrying out the Federation’s major mandate: organizing mountain clubs from throughout the province of British Columbia to represent collective interests for self-propelled access to wilderness areas.

Ranging in date from the 1970’s to ca. 2018, records in the fonds document the FMCBC’s major activities in support of their mandate: administrative and executive activities, the creation of various committees and work undertaken by these committees, advocacy for various lands and parks throughout the province to be considered and maintained for public access, and educating and communicating to both members and the public on topics of relevant interest.

While the FMCBC as an organizational body created the majority of these records, some records in the fonds were created by related organizations, such as the British Columbia Mountaineering Club, governmental committees, or natural resource extraction companies. The majority of records within the fonds are textual, though some other record types are present, including maps, photographs and ephemera.

The collection consists of assorted research materials assembled by Runnalls, relating to the history of the United Church in British Columbia.

The fonds consists of a photocopy of the first of three volumes of Bobillier's diary describing his journey from France to the Yukon in 1939 and his subsequent missionary activities on behalf of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in British Columbia and the Yukon.

The collection reflects the careers and interests of the Farris family, who were prominent members of the Vancouver elite. Their status as a family of lawyers and educated individuals often allowed them the opportunity to travel and attend noted events such as the Royal Ascot Racecourse, and encounter several distinguished individuals, such as Prime Ministers Louis St. Laurent and Pierre Trudeau, Lieutenant Governor Walter Owen, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The collection consists chiefly of correspondence, photographs, matters of estate, family history, notebooks, manuscripts, legal memorabilia, and family memorabilia of John Wallace de Beque Farris, Evlyn Keirstad Farris, John Lauchlan Farris, and Dorothy Farris.

The fonds consists of textual records of marriages, Lytton Day and Night School attendance, and Anglican prayers translated into nłeʔképmx for use at the St. Paul’s Mission in Lytton, BC. Records are predominantly handwritten with English titles, generally corresponding to feast and holy days in the liturgical calendar. Marriage and Day and Night School attendance records include full and partial names and dates.

The fonds consists of a bound volume of 35 letters to Ewing Buchan from dealers in the sterling exchange stating their pleasure or criticism with the sample sheet sent to them about a new edition of Buchan's Exchange Tables. Correspondence comprises letters sent from banking institutions and brokerage firms in Toronto, New York, Montreal, Yarmouth, Halifax, Hamilton and Windsor, N.S.

The fonds consists of Eric Nicol’s business correspondence, drafts (handwritten notebooks and typescripts) for various writings, finished scripts for plays and shows, drafts, reference materials, reviews of his work, printed materials featuring his articles, subject files, royalty statements and other financial records regarding the publication of Nicol's books, as well as posters, newspaper clippings, awards, photographs and other ephemera which document Nicol's career as a writer. The fonds contains a file of his correspondence with The Vancouver Sun, which was kept by the Sun and later given to Nicol. His writings are categorized into radio scripts, television scripts, stage scripts, books, articles, short stories and other writings. Drafts and related materials of each category comprise a series.

The fonds consists of Flesher's unpublished memoirs entitled "Timber: The Log of a Western Logger" with revised drafts by Elsie McGill. The manuscript provides an account of the British Columbia logging industry from 1912 to 1965. The fonds also includes five journals (1934-1969), correspondence (1946, 1965-1972), legal documents (1904-1912), photographs of Flesher's family and early logging career and printed material. Most of the records relate to his activities in the Phillips Arm area.

The fonds consists of minutes, financial and office files of the Energy and Chemical Workers Union Local 614 and its predecessors, the United Oil Workers Union Local 3, the Oil Workers International Union Local 614, and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union Local 16-614. The fonds also includes correspondence and agreements of Imperial Oil Ltd. relating to the initial unionization of workers at the Ioco Refinery, Ioco, B.C. (now Port Moody, B.C.), 1943-1946.

Fonds reflects E.M. Delafield's career and interests as a writer and lecturer in the early decades of the twentieth century. Some of the items in the fonds were also made or received by persons related to E.M. Delafield. Textual records in the fonds consist of letters related to Delafield's research and writing on the British author Charlotte Yonge and unpublished manuscripts, plays, short articles, book reviews, and lectures written by Delafield pertaining to her interests in Charlotte Yonge, women, religion, the lives of the British upper class, and other subjects. The fonds also includes clippings, obituary notices, photographs, and records related to the writings of Lorna Lewis. The fonds consists of a subject file series of Hopkins' personal and working papers; a chronological series of articles by and about Hopkins as well as publications; sketchbooks; drawings; photographs and slides of her family, friends, and artwork; and, cassette tapes of interviews with Elisabeth Hopkins.

Fonds consists of records reflecting Fenton’s activities as the president of the Local 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in B.C. and the Executive Board representative of the First District of the Pacific District Council of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, spanning approximately from 1912 to 1913. These records are arranged in chronological order. Textual records in the fonds primarily consist of incoming correspondence from the U.S. to E.Tilford Fenton as the president of the I.B.E.W. in B.C., general circulars and reports from Pacific District Council, and administrative documents of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Personal correspondence of E. Tilford Fenton spans primarily from 1914 to 1915. These records are also arranged in chronological order. The fonds is arranged into the following four series: office correspondence; general circulars; administrative documents; and personal correspondence.

The collection consists of five scrapbooks with materials and photographs mainly related to the Canadian Pacific Railway and the career of E.D. Cotterell. One scrapbook is dedicated to the Quebec Conference in 1943, a high-level military discussion which included Winston Churchill, British prime minister, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and various Chiefs of Staff. Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King was host. In addition, the collection contains material related to the visit of the British King (George) and Queen in Canada in 1939, as well as other royal visits.

Fonds consists of documents related to Stacey's career as a fisherman, historian, writer, researcher, curator, and consultant. Materials include correspondence, photographs, recorded interviews, reports, handwritten notes, clippings, research materials, prints, postcards, ephemera and other documents.

The "Gulf of Georgia files" series was arranged by the records creator and has been respected. All other series have been imposed by the archivist and arranged according to materials that relate to Stacey's roles as expert witness in various trials, historical and industrial researcher, collector and curator, and commercial fisherman, respectively. Where correspondence and photographs were stored separately by the records creator, they have been retained together in series according to their document type; otherwise, file integrity has been respected and these materials may be found in other series as well.

A significant amount of material, consisting primarily of copies of photographs obtained by Stacey from various archival institutions, has been removed.

The collection pertains to D.T. Willis’ career and involvement in construction projects throughout British Columbia predominately between 1948 and 1962. The collection includes numerous groups of photographs documenting the opening of the Hope-Princeton Highway, BC Department of Public Works construction projects and personnel, Engineering Conferences, BC Public Works Events and a 1948 image of the original 1880's wagon trail between Hope and Cache Creek, BC. Numerous photographs have annotations on the back, identifying subjects, dates, and contextual information. Textual materials also appear in the Collection, including a commemorative pamphlet for the Hope-Princeton Highway opening, car mileage recordings for several roadways, photograph indexes and identification sheets.

Fonds includes 8 notebooks, 7 of which are manuscripts of lecture notes taken by the Doctor’s father, also named Jacob Edwin Brouse, while studying at McGill University between 1858 and 1961. The last item, an appointment book created in 1898, shows records of Brouse’s hospital patients after opening the Slocan Hospital.

This collection includes correspondence, financial records, legal documents, and newspapers which reflect the history of Sanbornton, New Hampshire, and New England as a whole in the eighteenth, nineteenth, and early twentieth centuries. The collection consists of documents related to the activities of local individuals, including the appointment of Justice of the Peace John Tallant; invoices and receipts for Hugh Tallant, Sarah Tallant, William Blake, Samuel Wells, W.W. Sargent, Samuel Sargent, Theodore Cooke, J.W. Blodget, Seth W. Fowle, Lyman Washburn, Fred E. Thorpe, William Wallace, and Edward Farnum, among others, mainly dealing with the sale and purchase of farming equipment, land, and household supplies.
The collection also includes correspondence between siblings Elisabeth, George, Laura, Stephen, and Thomas Wiggin and Susan Wiggin Avery and Joshua Avery; Dorothy, Hannah, James, Laura, Lucy, and Marinda Bean and Betsey Davis; Betsey Osgood and John Osgood; and between Laura Bean and Susan Wiggin.
Finally, the collection includes newspaper clippings from the following newspapers: l'Aurore, l'Aurore des Canadas, Canada Scotsman, The Canadian Ecclesiastical Gazette, Le Canadien, The Colonial Farmer, Colonist, Le Courier du Bas-Canada, Daily News, Des Trois-Rivieres, l'Echo du Pays, The Enquirer, The Evening Star, La Gazette de Quebec, Gazette des Trois-Rivieres, The Globe, Le Journal de Quebec, Montreal Herald, Montreal Transcript, Le Pays, The Pilot, Sinclair's Monthly Circular, Le Spectateur, and Waterloo Advertiser.

Fonds consists of records relating to the landscape and postcard photography of Dorse McTaggart. McTaggart owned and operated his own postcard business. His photographs and postcards feature scenes from throughout British Columbia, including mountains and other nature scenes, parks, towns, historic sights and landmarks, recreation, bridges, museums, and industrial sites. Dorse’s photography went beyond this subject matter, including portraits and weddings, but this material is not included in the fonds.

Materials in the fonds include negatives, transparencies, photographic prints, and published postcards, which represent the various stages of postcard production. It appears that Dorse produced many of his postcards by shooting on 4x5 film, then creating a 4x5 film positive from which to print the postcard on his own printing press. The fonds also includes a journal kept by Dorse in which he wrote down brief descriptions of photographs that he took, marketing books that he used to show his postcards to potential buyers, and a small amount of correspondence and other textual records.

Items have been arranged into five series that maintain the organization they had when received by Rare Books and Special Collections. It is not clear if this organization was that of Dorse, Walter, or a combination of both.
