The fonds consists of manuscripts and published forms of Evans' articles, short stories, radio plays, poems and novels. The fonds also contains many of Evans' diaries, journals, notebooks and sketchbooks which provide valuable insights into the author's personality. His extensive business and personal correspondence includes letters to and from Margaret Laurence, Silver Donald Cameron and Grace MacInnis, as well as many readers and publishing houses. The fonds also includes audio and video recordings of interviews, poetry, stories and novels used by Hubert Evans when his eyesight began to fail. Finally, the fonds contains the papers of Evans' wife Ann (Anna) Winter Evans, which consists of stories and articles.

The IABC fonds reflects the community collecting practices that the IABC undertook to preserve the history of Icelanders in British Columbia. Fonds is arranged in eight subfonds that reflect the various community organizations from which the archives originally collected.

Fonds documents the IABC’s commitment to preserving the lived experiences of its Icelandic community and is arranged into seven series that correspond to the IABC’s activities: administration and operation; providing educational programs and collecting biographies as well as written and oral histories; collecting Icelandic music; compiling a collection of Icelandic newspapers and publications; holding exhibits and events; acquiring photographic collections; and lastly acquiring collections of textual records, ephemera, and artifacts from its community.

Records pertain largely to Youngs acquisition and use of his British Columbia mineral claims during the early 1950s through to the early 1960s. Claims that Young acquired located near Lillooet, and were called the Anita, Sunrise and Margaret mineral claims. Claims acquired near Kamloops, and were called the Speed, Puzzle, and Last Chance mineral claims, and consisted of sodium carbonate and magnesium sulphate lakes. The records consist largely of correspondence, particularly between Young and Gilbert Spears and Young and those who sold him the mineral claims, but also with lawyers and potential clients such as pharmaceutical companies, timber plants, salt plants, and rubber plants. Records also include contracts and other legal documents. Eight photographs are contained in the file regarding the acquisition of the Basque salt lakes.
A small amount of records pertain to the production of a Christmas film in 1952 called Bethlehem, designed by an associate of Youngs. Young and his associate hoped to sell the filmstrip to the National Film Board with the potential for creating future films for them, and the images to a card company with the aim of making Christmas cards from them. Records consist of correspondence and a script.
The fonds is arranged into two series: Mineral Claims series, and Filmstrip series. The Mineral Claims series contains 6 files: Basque lakes, 1951-1952; Business correspondence, 1951-1953; Reports and contracts, 1952-1956; Spears Correspondence, 1958-1959; Business and Spears Correspondence, 1958-1959; Business and Spears Correspondence, 1958-1961. The fonds consists of family papers including genealogical findings and legal documents concerning land owned by his family in the New Westminster District (Whonnock), 1870-1910; correspondence and newsclippings; records gathered or kept by Spilsbury on Spilsbury and Hepburn Ltd. and its successors in radio communications, 1940-1985; records of Queen Charlotte Airlines Ltd., 1946-1955; and a large collection of ca. 6000 photographs (including cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards) negatives, and slides, mainly taken by Spilsbury. The photographs consist mainly of images relating to Savary Island, Vancouver Island and other area of B.C.'s coast where Spilsbury lived and carried out his activities. As well as images of early native and logging sites and towns and topography of B.C., they also provide a record of Spilsbury's paintings. Photographs also depict Spilsbury's English relatives (1870-1906), friends and family at New Westminster, Whonnock and Savary Island, logging operations at Theodosia Arm in the 1930s, aircraft and personnel of Queen Charlotte Airlines, and equipment and personnel of Spilsbury and Hepburn.

Fonds consists of material related to a documentary film made by John Corry, entitled “Life's Imprint: Lithographs by Jack Shadbolt.” This 1994 film documents Canadian artist Jack Shadbolt’s production of a four-part colour lithograph, done over a 9-month period in collaboration with lithographer Torrie Groenig. The film was produced and directed by Corry, with the support of the National Film Board of Canada and Knowledge Network., and was originally broadcast on CBC, Bravo!, and Knowledge Network. It includes scenes from Shadbolt’s studio in Burnaby and the Limited Editions studio in Gastown.

Material includes the master tapes from filming, production notes, photographs, obituaries for Shadbolt (who died in 1998), and promotional and distribution documents.
