Holt v. Mack

Dorman v. Frain et al, owners of the steamship "Caledonia"

File consists of 2 documents: Writ of Summons; Petition of Appeal. Plaintiff was employed by the Defendants as a caulker in construction of the steam vessel "Caledonia". One day, the Plaintiff had to perform some work on the bottom of the ship and the Defendants were to secure the vessel so that the Plaintiff could work safely underneath the ship. The Defendants did not take such care in securing and supporting the vessel. The said vessel fell down on the Plaintiff, crushing and maiming him. The Plaintiff claims 504 pounds, 5 shillings, 5 pence sterling.

In the Matter of Charles Young

File consists of 5 documents: Affidavit of G.H. Cary; Affidavit of C.B. Young; Rule Discharged; Statement of W.M. Drake; Notice of Intent to Appeal. It is ruled that Mr. Young is not allowed to vote in Victoria. G.H. Cary has claimed that Mr. Young was a pawnbroker in San Francisco. Young objects to all of this, claiming he was born in England and has never taken the oath of allegiance in any foreign state.

Young v. Parker

Parker had signed a promissory note for $1,500 with the Plaintiff, payable 90 days after the date when the note became due. He then signed a fresh note for the same amount, payable 60 days after the date due. Young is suing him for the amount due on the note and the Defendant believes that he has a good defense to the action.

Wolff v. Carey

Bunster v. Corry
