Regarding Abraham Blackman

Blackman was indebted to J.R. Stewart as well as to other parties. Regarding Alfred Robertson (1 of 2)

J.R. Robertson and R. Bishop, solicitors for the creditor assignees of the Alfred Robertson, were unable to proceed with the action of the assignees against the estate of A. -E Johnson is the attorney for G.Dietz. Mr. George askew has applied to E. Johnson for a loan of $3500 upon a mortgage. Johnson believes that the proposed loan, to be advanced out of the moneys of G. Dietz, would be a safe and advantageous investment for him.

Regarding Edward E. Wright

Wright was a prisoner for debt in the jail at Victoria. He states that he does not have the means of paying the fees and expenses related to a petition and asks the court to declare him a bankrupt, which it does. Regarding Ernest Muller

Muller was indebted to J. Murray for goods bargained and sold to him by Murray. R. Woods and C.E. Pooley were appointed to act as official assignees in the matter. Includes appointment of official assignees, petition for adjudication of bankruptcy (with affidavits of J. Murray verifying the same), and affidavits of R. Bishop, and E. Muller.

Regarding Evans Bros.

The court had reason to believe that the Evans Bros. were concealing assets in their homes and in the premises of D. Clark & Company in Victoria. Judge Begbie ordered that all premises be searched and possessions seized, inventoried, and appraised.

Regarding F.W. Quarles

Regarding Hamilton Anstruther

Anstruther carried out business as merchant and agent in a copartnership
with W. Burnett Mactavish under the firm name of Anstruther & Company in Calcutta. Anstruther found himself facing insolvency due to his indebtedness and petitioned the court in Calcutta for relief.

Regarding John F. Tarte

Tarte was unable to meet his engagements with his creditors and petitioned the court to be declared bankrupt. Includes affidavit of Tarte, summons, affidavit verifying petition, declaration, adjudication, and petition informa pauperis.

Regarding John Hamilton Gray

Regarding S. A. Smith

Smith, a saloonkeeper in Cariboo, was a prisoner in the Victoria jail. Unable to meet his engagements with his creditors, he requested that adjudication of bankruptcy be made against him.
