August 1974: Mountains and Skeena River Boats

All slides are stamped AUG74V2 and 1030.

Subject matter of the images includes a sign for the Skeena River Boats and unidentified mountains (which may be in Kitwanga Mountain Park or the Seven Sisters range).

August 1973: Northern BC

All slides are stamped AUG73V3. Slides were also stamped and grouped according to one of the following additional identification numbers: 1033, 1037, 1039.

Subject matter of the images includes the Nass River Bridge on Highway 37; mountain, lake and glacier scenes; and a black bear with a cub.

August 1972: Northern BC

All slides are stamped AUG72V2. Slides were also stamped and grouped according to one of the following additional identification numbers: 1027, 1042.

Subject matter of the images includes Prince Rupert, a small church in a village on the water (interior, exterior, and stained glass windows), a sign for the Arctic Divide (located about 30 miles north of Prince George), another church, lake and mountain scenes, a blooming cactus, and ducks on water.

August 1971: EC Manning Park and Hell’s Gate

All slides are stamped AUG71V1. Slides were also stamped and grouped according to one of the following additional identification numbers: 1022, 1023.

Subject matter of the images includes the Hell’s Gate area and air tram (on the Fraser River) and EC Manning Provincial Park.

All slides stamped AUG70V1. Slides were also stamped and grouped according to one of the following additional identification numbers: 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1024.

Subject matter of these slides is from throughout the southern interior region of BC, including mountains, lakes, rivers, towns, a museum, the Cariboo region, and bridges.

August 1969: Cariboo region and northern BC

All slides are stamped AUG69V3. Slides were also stamped and grouped according to one of the following additional identification numbers: 1031, 1032, 1034, 1035, 1046, 1052, 1056, 1057.

Subject matter of the images includes the area of Smithers, BC; a hotel; waterfall; a riverbank with wildflowers; a ferry port; the Seven Sisters mountain range; the Cariboo region; a “Paddlewheels North” historic marker sign (north of the town of Quesnel); the town of Williams Lake; wildflowers; and a woman with a baby deer.

Archival negs

File consists of reproductions of archival material, including photographs and maps, as well as a paper sleeve that originally housed the negatives and that has identifying stamps and information similar to the stamps Dorse used in his journal, which is also included in this fonds.
