Records pertaining to his sister’s death show the painstaking detail the family took in providing a meaningful burial for her. The UBC ephemera provides a glimpse into Laurence’s social life at UBC. The music and theatre programs show his interest in the arts from a young age. The photographs provide valuable information on who his family was, what Laurence liked to do, and the activities in which he participated. His diary, letters received by him, and a list containing the translation of various words and phrases of the language of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation provide insight into who he was as a person.

The fonds consists of Ricou's correspondence during his teaching careers at the University of Lethbridge and UBC. The fonds also includes records relating to his involvement with the Association of Canadian University Teachers of English (ACUTE), book reviews, negotiated grants, Literary History of Canada, Canada research fellowships and a summer course taught on the writings of Malcolm Lowry. The fonds also contains research information pertaining to the life and work of Canadian author Patricia Blondal.

This fonds consists of a scrapbook of material about the writer, fly-fisher and conservationist Roderick Haig-Brown. A major section of the scrapbook is an ongoing correspondence between Straight and Haig-Brown regarding fishing and conservation issues on Vancouver Island. There are also numerous photos, newspaper clippings and magazine articles about Haig-Brown both during his lifetime and posthumously.

The fonds consists of records relating to Bawtree’s time on two important legislative committees: The Committee on Crown Corporations and The Select Standing Committee on Agriculture (SSCA). The SSCA was tasked by the Legislature to make a complete review of agriculture in the province, including the production, processing and distribution of food products within the province. As a result, there are reports from numerous meetings taken throughout different cities in BC from various agricultural groups that aided in the different phases of the research report on the entire food system of BC. These records include: bounded reports, transcripts, photographs, correspondence, expense reports, articles, and handwritten notes.

Fonds consists of an annotated typescript manuscript and page proofs of Zolbrod's translation of the Japanese classic Ugetsu Monogatari ("Tales of Moonlight and Rain") and an unpublished manuscript entitled Reluctant Genius: The Life and Work of Buson, a Japanese Master of Haiku and Painting.

The contents of this collection pertain to the Santo Tomas Interment Camp in the Philippines during WWII. The camp was active from 1942 to 1945 and housed over 4,000 prisoners-of-war.

Records reflect the internal administrative structure and functioning of the camp, daily life of internees, the political activities surrounding the camp, and the personal experiences of Barbara and Leonard McCann.

It includes blueprint plans of machinery used in the cannery industry, ten printed catalogues, correspondence (1893), and photographs and clippings pertaining to the machinery industry including detailed descriptions of fish canning machinery.

The fonds also includes four Bertha Lewis' diaries (1934-1957). Included in this family material is a large assortment of records from the Federation of Canadian Artists, which Hunter Lewis collected in the 1940s and early 1950s.

There is much correspondence that Peterat received from colleagues and students all over the world, publications and reports, and material related to the Landed Learning Program. This collection consists of ephemera that celebrates gender performance and lesbian identities. Materials span a wide time period, capturing both early and late 20th century LGBT culture.

In particular, there is a significant part of the collection dedicated to ephemera and published materials that feature early 20th century gender impersonators. Developed out of the English music hall scene of the 19th century, male impersonators in the early 20th century were primarily vaudeville acts that toured the United States. Their audiences were predominantly male with a focus on comedic delivery, something that represented a shift in the male impersonator tradition from the earlier 19th century.
Well-known male impersonators include Vesta Tilley, who was an active performer from the 1870s until the 1920s, and Hetty King, who performed from the 1890s until her passing in the 1970s. Both are featured in a number of postcards that are part of the collection.

The collection also includes several early 20th century anti-suffrage postcards that depict women in relationships with each other (as opposed to men) and include phrases that suggest they have supplanted a man’s role. Other items include a souvenir photograph and accompanying paper frame from a 1930s entertainment venue, the Howdy Club, and 6 negatives of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt taken in 1939.

The collection also features materials from the 1980s and 1990s that belonged to Snider during that period. Highlights include several off-air recordings of episodes of the Vancouver Co-Op Radio show, ‘The Lesbian Show’ as well as t-shirts from the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria Womyn’s Centres.

Lee’s records offer insight into the political aspirations of the Kuomintang amidst the backdrop of the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Cold War, the Chinese Civil War, and beyond; the public education scene for Chinese Canadians in British Columbia; and the lived experiences of the overseas Chinese in 20th century Canada.

Records predominantly range from Lee’s earlier years in China in the 1920s until his death in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1980. Records include reports, correspondence, notebooks, receipts and invoices, maps, books and bound material, newspapers, greeting cards, song sheets, business cards, badges and memorabilia, stamps and plaques, photographs, poems, flag textiles, and more. Many of these records were created in British Columbia, Canada, but others were generated in the process of Lee’s travels to other countries (predominantly Taiwan) or were received by Lee from other individuals and organizations based outside of British Columbia or Canada.
