Photographs series

Series consists of photographic prints documenting Schlesinger’s life, career, and travels. Some photographs were taken by Schlesinger, but most were taken by others and show Schlesinger either on foreign assignment or at other events.

Digital Media series

Series consists of digital media (3½” floppy disks, CDs, CD-Rs and DVDs) containing items documenting Schlesinger’s life and work, including TV scripts, interview transcripts, typed manuscripts, photographs, and digital video recordings. Various formats, including generic file formats, Word Perfect 5.0, doc (97-2003), tif, jpg, mp3, MPEG, and pdf, are present. In addition, an item inventory is available for each floppy disc and optical disc. Please ask UBC Archives staff for more details.

Printer's Series

Series consists of correspondence relating to the publication of whole issues of the journal. Also included are final drafts of articles submitted for publication. In addition, the series contains instructions for the printer relating to the layout of each issue. Series arranged by issue.

Math Works series

This project initially only included a series of six books (a student and teacher book for grades 10, 11, and 12) developed for the Alberta Ministry of Education. The contract was awarded to PEP after an initial proposal was made to the Ministry. The project was later expanded to include student workbooks to supplement the textbooks and similar books for grade 10 for New Brunswick.

Series consists of documentation of the Math Works series and includes book proposals, minutes, drafts, editorial notes and reports, and correspondence. It is arranged in subseries based on the book title.

LiDKit series

The LiDKit project was part of the Learning in Depth Program, collaborating with the Imaginative Education Research Group. The purpose of the program was to encourage students to engage in various types of educational activities by focusing on one specific subject. Series consists of correspondence, drafts, and editorial notes.

UBC Performing Arts Collection

Collection consists primarily of event flyers, programmes and calendars published to promote various performing arts productions at UBC. Also included are companion guides for some theatre productions. Materials are arranged in three categories: Theatre Productions, Musical Productions, and Performing Arts – General. Within each category the materials are organized by department, organization, or production series.

Honours and Awards series

Series includes records about Richard and Verna’s membership in the Order of Canada, their UBC joint honorary degree, and their entry into the Canadian Who’s Who. Records include information sheets and pamphlets, newsletters, correspondence, biographical summaries, and speech transcripts.

Poetry series

Series consists of records related to McNeil’s Poetry publications. It contains drafts, correspondence with McNeil’s editors, publishers, publicists, as well as contracts with the same. It also consists of general conferences and reading programs that she attended or participated in.

Mina Hubbard series

Materials relating to Grace’s research on explorer Mina Benson Hubbard and her journey into Labrador. Includes annotated research materials, correspondence, notes, lecture materials, and publishing permissions.

Speeches series

Series consists of typescripts of speeches made by Schlesinger at various events, including his several honorary degree ceremonies. Files are maintained in chronological order.

Awards and Recognition series

Series consists of materials that document awards, honorary degrees, and other forms of recognition received by Schlesinger during his life and include original certificates, citations, and ceremonial programmes. Files are maintained in chronological order.
Some certificates were removed from their frames during processing.

Family History Research Series

Series consists of records from the research conducted by Keith into his family history. It consists of correspondence, research, photographs, audio recordings, and interview transcripts. This series includes information that was used in Keith’s memoir Fatherless. Material arranged in two sub-series: Files and Audio Recordings.

Chinese Head Tax Project subseries

Subseries consists of research notes and digital data assembled by Ward and Dr. Henry Yu for the Chinese Head Tax Project. This comprehensive project involved digitizing more than 96,000 entries to the Chinese Head Tax Register.

Richard Beverley Splane sous-fonds

Work records reflect Splane's work in Alberta, his time in the RCAF, his lengthy career in the federal government, and his time at UBC. Personal records reflect Splane's social life and interest in social welfare outside his profession. These records include correspondence, curriculum vitae, photographs (print and digital), notes, articles and publications, meeting minutes and agenda, and certificates.

Photographs series

The series consists of photographic prints, both black-and-white and colour, documenting George McWhirter, his family, and his colleagues. Photos 134.1/37 to 134.1/45 have not been digitized. Digital-born photographs can be found in the Digital Media series. Photographs have been digitized and included in UBC Archives’ Historical Photograph Database UBC 134.1.

Article Series

Series consists of rough drafts and revisions of manuscripts submitted for publication in BC Studies. Also included are correspondence between the authors and the journal editor, as well as comments and reports from referees before publication approval. Series arranged by issue and author.

Family History series

Series consists of records collected and written by Priscilla Galloway and other family members regarding the history of the Peebles family. It includes a binder put together by Priscilla Galloway that has printouts from a family history database detailing family history as well as original correspondence, newspaper clippings and other records created by various members of the Peebles family. The series also includes photocopies of photographs, newspaper clippings, histories of various family members, and articles about Peter Peebles’ work.

Malcolm Lowry series

Material related to Grace’s work on Malcolm Lowry. Includes research materials, correspondence, copies of Lowry’s writings and letters, photographs, publications, major research papers, and ephemera.

On the Art of Being Canadian series

Materials related to the writing and publishing of On the Art of Being Canadian (2009). Includes annotated research materials, correspondence, publishing permissions, photographs, clippings, and ephemera.

Central Office File series

This extensive series consists of records maintained in the President’s office. Arranged alphabetically by subject and then chronologically, these files include correspondence, reports, statistics, teacher evaluations, manuals, agendas, Board of Governor Committees, budgets, buildings and facilities, President’s permanent and temporary committees, salaries, finances, student discipline and Faculty department files amongst many others. Also present is a file on the Clinton/Yelstin summit in 1993 and records relating to Trek 2010. Please review the file list below for additional records present in the series.

Museum of Anthropology series

Series consists of correspondence, committee minutes, reports, and published materials regarding the planning, building, and administration of the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Book Review Series

Series consists of correspondence between book review authors and the editor and rough drafts and revisions of their reviews. Also included are responses from authors and comments from referees.

Publications series

The Publications series consists of Peterat's many publications and works that appeared in anthologies, journals, and reports.

Public-Private Partnerships series

Series consists of records which document course development and research conducted at the Sauder School of Business into the mechanics and viability of public-private partnerships (P3) for funding and operating public services and development projects and includes reports, grant proposals, correspondence, and course materials. It is arranged primarily in chronological order.

Publications series

Series consists of course calendars, enrolment guides, recruitment materials, career guides, reports, and other materials, published mainly by Enrolment Services and other units within Student Services.
