Two clippings related to the libel suit following Evelyn Lau's publication of "Me and W.P."
Contains two clippings related to the libel suit started by author W.P. Kinsella after the 1997 publication of an article entitled "Me and W.P" by Evelyn Lau, a former lover and fellow writer. Coupland, who guest-edited the issue of Vancouver Magazine in which the article appears, was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Includes page A11 from the Globe and Mail Arts section (Wednesday, March 4, 1998), and a copy of BC Frank Magazine (Issue 268, March 25, 1998) in which W.P. Kinsella and Evelyn Lau appear on the cover.
Kinsella v. Lau et al. defendant's documents
Contains a copy of documents submitted by the defendants in the libel case launched by author W.P. Kinsella following an article written by former lover and fellow writer Evelyn Lau, entitled "Me and W.P." that appeared in Vancouver Magazine (1997). Because Coupland had guest-edited the issue of the magazine in which the article appeared, he was also named in the libel suit, along with Jim Sutherland and Telemedia Communications, Inc. Ultimately the suit was settled out of court.
Contains a handwritten note thanking Coupland for doing a "beautiful job of capturing Terry" Fox in his book, Terry. The brief and familiar nature of the note, and the lack of return address or envelope suggest that Coupland and Solway may have known each other.
