Many of the documents in this series were created by legal counsel or other parties related to the NDP, and were returned ca. 2000-2002. Some organization of the material was undertaken by the Executive Secretary upon return, but in several cases, no original order was apparent (indicated at the file level).

Series consists of three subseries relating to court cases, commissions of inquiry, investigations, and related events that involved or significantly impacted the New Democratic Party or its members.

Court documents related to a discrimination suit brought against the BC NDP by Samuel Wagar in 1994 can be found in file 467-06/07.
File 468-03 in the "Provincial Secretary correspondence" series of this fonds contains legal correspondence and court documents from the BC Supreme Court regarding a case between plaintiff Bernard Simpson and NDP defendant Svend Robinson.
File 468-04 in the same series contains correspondence relating to a BC Human Rights Commission registered by Kari Simpson, member of the Citizens Research Institute, and Nancy Yacoub, member of the Concerned Parents for Quality Education, against NDP MLA Tim Stevenson.
File 468-05 in the same series contains legal correspondence and court documents relating to a BC Supreme Court case brought against members of the Burnaby Citizens' Association regarding nomination irregularities.
File 468-06 contains copies of court documents from two related BC Supreme Court documents relating to accusation of funds mismanagement among union officials, wherein funds paid by workers into the Labourer's Advancement and Contract Administration fund were donated to the BC NDP or NDP election candidates without member authorization.
File 473-04 contains legal correspondence and court documents related to an incident at an NDP rally that led to Watson attempting to sue another rally attendee and the BC NDP after a brief altercation ensued.
