It also includes correspondence relating to his professional work, his broadcasting and literary career, his work in the Department of Zoology at UBC, and research materials, information and correspondence regarding various associations to which Suzuki belonged or had dealings. The records reflect the Committee's involvement in devising an interdisciplinary course of study (1972-1977) for students interested in the medieval field, and the Committee's role in organizing the annual Medieval Workshop at UBC (1973-1979). The video recordings are from a series entitled Beyond the Memory of Man in which members of the Committee appeared.

The records relate primarily to McDonald's professional teaching, writing and research work and, to a much lesser extent, are records about his personal life. The course teaching materials include outlines and syllabi, lecture notes, class handouts, newspaper clippings, website printouts, and other materials used to develop course content. Records relating to McDonald's writing include typescript drafts, off-prints, handwritten notes, conference papers, and correspondence. The most extensive records relate to McDonald's research. They include newspaper clippings and other published items, copies of articles annotated by McDonald's, handwritten index cards with notes and citations, correspondence, and audio recordings of interviews, music and speeches. Finally, records related to awards and recognition received include curriculum vitae, certificates, correspondence and McDonald's Killam Teaching Award from 2000.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. File consists of the Union Organizer's handwritten office log, dated November 3rd, 1975 to November 17, 1976. The log documents the Organizer's duties and activities, including general administration and organization, phone calls, speaking to members, preparing reports, compiling arbitration cases, office renovation, peparing for membership meetings, writing newsletter articles, recordkeeping, and constructing an office manual.

File also contains correspondence, a Civil Engineering Department list, administrative instructions, reports written by the Organizer, meeting notes, committee membership lists and terms of reference, an executive membership list, and a library loan list.

File also contains "Strike Progress" material, documenting AUCE's strike activity and administration in December 1975. Records include activity logs, an official brief to UBC's Board of Governors, executive meeting minutes, a transcript of a meeting between AUCE and the BC Federation of Labour, and correspondence.

The fonds consists of incoming correspondence primarily from writer Jane Rule (1976-1983) and to a lesser extent from her partner Helen Sonthoff. It also includes copies of miscellaneous articles and columns by and about Jane Rule collected by Jean Wilson.
