History

Janet Thomson Greig graduated from Queen's University and taught French in Quebec and Vancouver before joining the Department of Modern Languages at UBC in 1922. She enjoyed a 23-year career at the university, and during that time, she completed her M.A. in 1926. She retired from the university in 1944. In her lifetime, she was made Officer D'Académie avec Palmes Académique and was presented with the Alliance Française's Medal for her work on French culture.
