Biographical history

Melvin Lloyd Gaudin, M.D. was a British obstetrician and gynaecologist in the mid twentieth century. Gaudin became a member of the Royal College Obstetricians and Gynecologists on April 25th 1942. He worked at The Jessop Hospital for Women in Sheffield, England, circa 1940, and was Head Surgeon in the hospital in 1941.

Custodial history

Material was originally part of the Charles Woodward Memorial Library Collection. It was transferred to Rare Books and Special Collections in 2013.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of records related to Gaudin's medical career in obstetrics and gynaecology. Record types include Gaudin's certificate of membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and studies and commentary on obstetrical and gynaecological cases. The majority of these studies are bound together in a volume presented to the Royal College by Gaudin.
