Document granting general sufferance with conditions

Hand written form granting permission to Samuel McCullough to voyage up the Fraser River with four men and his implements and provisions for mining. Conditions of sufferance include to only bring on board goods bought from the Hudson Bay Company, to not carry gunpowder or other ammunition except for that from the United Kingdom, to receive no passengers without a gold mining license, and not to trade with First Nations. Document commissioning David Cameron to the position of Chief-Justice in the Colony of Vancouver's Island by command of James Douglas, Governor, and written by Philip Hawkin, Colonial Secretary. The document is handwritten, with the seal of the colony of the Island of Vancouver affixed, signed James Douglas adjacent to the seal in the upper left corner, and has been folded twice. Document is framed along with a photograph of Douglas located in the lower left corner.

Shipping contract

Document outlines details of the contract between Lee Ying and Tung Fat. The contract covers details about the pricing and condition of rice being shipped to Victoria.
