Additionally, there are Science Fiction stills and posters, Spanish-language lobby cards, 36cm x 91cm insert posters, and miscellaneous stills from other 20th-century cinema.

The records of the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are representative of the athletics side of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. While athletics and recreation fall under the same department, in practice, they operate independently of one another. Their textual records are also physically held at separate locations. Surviving records in the Department of Athletics and Recreation fonds are broadly representative of the achievements of UBC athletes and teams. Far less extensive, are the types of administrative documents produced or accumulated in the course of the day-to-day business of the department. Examples of records present in the fonds include programs, historical research, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, team rosters, scoresheets, profile write-ups, yearbooks, media guides, correspondence, agendas, training schedules, coaching handbooks, travel itineraries, and ephemera.

Patricia Carney fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, minutes, memoranda, personal notes, diaries, photographs, videos and an assortment of ephemera created or collected by Carney over her years in federal politics. The fond consists predominantly of materials reflecting Carney's political life. Records from her years in the Official Opposition (1980-1984) and in government (1984-1988) consist of parliamentary reports, minutes from Neighbourhood Nights and correspondence from constituents. The majority of materials reflect Carney's tenure as Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources (1984-1986), and Minister of International Trade (1986-1988). For dates during the evolution of both the Atlantic and Western Accords, these records include correspondence between Carney and provincial premiers, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, and provincial Ministers of Energy. Records from the FTA include a copy of the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, correspondence with Simon Reisman, Finance Minister Michael Wilson, Mulroney, and other Cabinet Ministers. FTA materials also include correspondence and newspaper clippings from the tenth anniversary of the FTA. The records also include copious handwritten notes from Carney's participation on the Priorities and Planning Committee of the Cabinet. The fonds also includes records from State Visits of the Prince and Princess of Wales and American Vice-President George Herbert Walker Bush to Expo 86, as well as State Visits by President and Mrs. Reagan of the United States and President and Mrs. Mitterrand of France. The fonds also contains records documenting Carney's career as a Senator, including a series dedicated to the Task Force on Barriers to Women in the Public Service. Also, the records contain a series of Carney's School of Community and Regional Planning teaching materials as well as limited amounts from both her private life and her career as an economic journalist.
The 2011 accrual (Boxes 47-60) consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, personal notes, reports, photographs, tapes and videos created collected by Carney during her time as a Senator. There is also further material regarding the reception of her autobiography and material from the operations of Gemini North.

Peter Harnetty fonds

The papers consist of McLennan's reminiscences of his Fairview days and life as a Rhodes scholar. Also included is a series of correspondence dating from 1924 to 1976. The correspondence has been arranged in two ways. The general correspondence has been simply arranged chronologically while other letters and cards, which McLennan sent to the Archives as identified groups, have been maintained as such. The papers also include printed material from the Canadian Association of Rhodes Scholars and Balliol College.

Cyril Belshaw fonds

The fonds consists of Cyril Belshaw's personal and professional papers. The professional records chronicle both his involvement in numerous local, national, and international organizations (including the Academic Board for Higher Education in British Columbia, the Regional Training Centre for United Nations Fellows, the Social Science Research Council of Canada, the Pacific Sciences Association, UNESCO, and the Canadian Sociology and Anthropology Association), and his teaching and administrative activities at UBC. The records also include his original research material and data into various groups in the South Pacific, and other topics in anthropology. More personal records related to his education and family. Also included are materials about the disappearance and subsequent inquiry into the death of Betty Joy Belshaw. The materials include meeting minutes, course materials, publications, manuscripts, research journals, personal diaries and agendas, financial statements, press clippings, photographs, maps and audio-visual materials.

File contains press releases and clippings, strike bulletins, picketing materials, and correspondence, dated April 11, 1980 to April 29, 1980. File contains materials relating to the Association of University and College Employees' Bargaining Strategies Conference, held February 5-7th, 1982, as well as several articles and copies of legislation. File contains Association of University and College Employees organizing materials, dated 1973 to 1974. Topics discussed include the benefits of union membership, the history of AUCE, membership and application forms, and outlines of charter meeting minutes. File also contains meeting minutes from the founding convention of the AUCE, dated August 29, 1973, and the charter of Local 5 (Malaspina College), dated November 24, 1974.

File contains union steward materials, dated October 4, 1977 to October 16, 1977. Topics discussed include duties and responsibilities, handling a grievance, dealing with supervisors, closing comments, Local grievance meetings, copies of minutes, tips for stewards, grievance information, rights of stewards, arbitration, information and agendas for stewards seminars, and brief histories of AUCE and SORWUC. File contains Local reports and a paper presented by the National Union of Students included in the sixth annual convention docket dated May 1979 to June 2-3, 1979. Records include draft and final versions of Local reports, correspondence and criticism related to Local 4 (Capilano), information on the SFU 18 and the history of Local 3 (NDU), and the National Union of Students policy paper from March 1979 entitled "Education: A system in chaos".

File contains photocopies of news clippings relating to the 1999 CUPE strike, dated January 7, 2000 to September 7, 1999. Topics discussed include picketing and strikes, negotiations, essential services, the UBC Alma Mater Society (AMS) supporting CUPE, contracts, and a proposed union for sessional instructors at UBC.

File contains three envelopes of newspaper clippings relating to the 1992 CUPE strike, dated December 9, 1992 to August 13, 1992. Topics discussed include equity, women in the workplace, finances, strikes, crossing picket lines, court injunctions, other unions such as the HEU, student actions supporting or opposing the CUPE strike, and university policy for students during the strike. File also contains several complete issues of newspapers such as the Ubyssey and the first issue of the UBC Student dated March 17, 1992.

File contains materials relating to the 1992 CUPE strike, including photocopies of articles and photographs (originals moved, see below) and news clippings dated February 20, 1992 to March 26, 1992. Topics discussed include background information on the strike, working conditions and wages, pay equity, negotiation, effects of the strike, scabs and strikebreakers, UBC student, administration, and faculty responses to the strike, a B.C. Supreme Court injunction limiting picket locations, the student sit-in at the president's office and related statement, and the end of the strike. UBC Alumni Chronicle: The Unionization of UBC

File contains an issue of the UBC Alumni Chronicle, dated Spring 1975. Topics discussed include the UBC Alumni Association election, unionization of UBC, an article on sports and culture, a profile on Tom Wayman, alumni annual giving and a list of scholarships, campus news including coverage of MLA Day, Senate election results, the Alumni Travel Program, and a message from the president, a spotlight section with alumni news, weddings, births, and deaths, and a letters section with submissions from readers.

AUCE History

File contains materials relating to the formation of the Association of University and College Employees, including two issues of the AUCE Local 1 newsletter Across Campus, photocopies of articles, a report on the history of CUPE 2950 (AUCE successor), and an account of signing the first AUCE collective agreement, dated 1972 to 1999.

Across Campus Volume 2, Issue 5, April 1, 1974, urges members to vote for AUCE Local 1 (UBC) to represent library and clerical staff at UBC, and includes information on division meetings and stewards.

Across Campus Volume 2, Issue 8, June 4, 1974, describes a mass contract study session undertaken by 831 AUCE members, negotiations with UBC, a meeting notice, mediation strategies, powers of the executive, the grievance committee, provincial union representatives, notice of bylaw amendment, wage demands, AUCE members working at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), statement of income and expenses for September 24, 1973 to May 15, 1974, UBC wage proposals, the treasurer's report including proposed expenditures for furniture and office equipment, and office staffing and duties.

Other topics discussed include a comparision of employee rights and benefits from the 1970s to the 1990s, discussions about other unions (OTEU, CUPE), wages, organizing, membership, voting, contracts, negotiation, benefits, and the history of unions in Canada.

[News clippings and other materials 1992 strike]

File contains multiple copies of fliers dated March 13, 1992 to February 10, 1992, and 3 copies of the Ubyssey "The Strike Issue" dated March 24, 1992. Topics discussed include contract negotiations between UBC and CUPE Locals 116 and 2950, strike actions and picketing, a student sit-in supporting CUPE, wages, a news bulletin from Law Students in Support of CUPE, an open letter to UBC from a group of concerned academics, a letter from the UBC president, and the impact of the strike. [Shop steward handbook and Travel Club newsletter]

File contains an AUCE/SORWUC shop steward handbook and AUCE travel club leaflets. Topics discussed in the handbook include rights and responsibilities of stewards, leaves from work, how to process grievances, arbitration, definitions, and a sample grievance form. Topics discussed in the newsletters include detailed information on tours and travel packages to Las Vegas, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, etc.

File contains news clippings of The Ubyssey, UBC reports, and University Endowment Lands (U.E.L.) special planning project, dated January 8, 1976 to January 13, 1976. Topics discussed include AUCE interactions with UBC, contracts, wage rollbacks, mediation, faculty crossing picket lines, and university endowment lands. Also included is the Engineer's Week undergraduate publication, The Red Rag, which the A.U.C.E. protested for its sexist content.
