The fonds consists of correspondence, speeches (including Young's parliamentary addresses), clippings and scrapbooks pertaining to Young's career and political views, as well as publications, constitutions and bylaws, newsletters, notices, and minutes pertaining to the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation. Also included are university essays on socialism, economics, and international affairs collected, but not written, by Young.

The fonds consists of correspondence and subject files pertaining to various locals of the International Association of Machinists. Also included is material from the B.C. Federation of Labour, Canadian Congress of Labour (1970-1984), Ontario Federation of Labour (1972- 1977), the provincial and federal CCF and NDP, as well as other material pertaining to labour and politics. There are also tapes of radio broadcasts and material relating to Thayer's personal interests.

The fonds consists of records chronicling the growth of socialism in Canada and the formation and history of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and the New Democratic Party, as well as with various aspects of the issues of human rights and of peace and disarmament. There is also autobiographical material and records pertaining to Unitarianism.

The fonds consists of correspondence and clippings pertaining to the CCF political movement and Smith's newsletters, newspaper columns and submissions to various commissions. Fonds also includes a transcript of an interview with Evelyn Smith conducted by Rachel Epstein.

The fonds consists of photographs depicting conventions or groups (CCF or CCYM), press releases, correspondence, newspaper clippings, publications and a brief historical outline of the Cooperative Commonwealth Youth Movement written by Olga Reithaug. The fonds shows the workings of the CCYM, the issues with which it involved itself, and its relationship with the CCF.

The collection consists of subject files relating to civic elections (1941-1971) and the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation. Also included are approximately 100 brochures and pamphlets pertaining to socialism.

The fonds contains records related to Fahrni’s involvement with
various organizations including the Kerala Balagram School, and the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and Fahrni’s activities as a lecture at various conferences and institutions. The majority of these records are arranged into subject, or research files, and represent Fahrni’s active involvement with a variety of human rights issues and local, National and social justice organizations.
The fonds includes correspondence, subject files, newspaper clippings, sound recordings, lecture notes, speeches, and conference and lecture notes. The fonds also includes photographs, slides, and albums documenting Fahrni’s family, life in British Columbia and trip to various locations overseas.
The fonds consists of 28 broadcasts and talks on the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation, relief camps and related political topics of the depression on CJOR, Vancouver. It also includes correspondence and subject files relating to her interests in peace and women's movements.

The collection consists of records of the provincial office of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and general research material pertaining to socialism and the labour movement. It consists of minutes, scrapbooks, office correspondence and files relating to party organization and records of committees, CCF clubs, constituencies, federal ridings and election. The collection also includes records generated by Arthur Turner as CCF Whip and Arnold Webster as a provincial party leader. Subject files pertaining to early socialists and clippings about international affairs were created by Dorothy Steeves. Subsequent accessions added to the collection have included the records of Angus MacInnis, Francis McKenzie and former provincial leader Ernest Winch.
