The Bush Family collection consists of records and objects gathered by various family members on specific holidays or during special occasions. George and Pearl Bush contributed memorabilia related to their family’s settlement in Vancouver, their vacations in Europe and the United States, the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, the city of Vancouver, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and the country of Canada. Some records and objects commemorating the Dominion of Canada and the Canadian Pacific Railway Company feature racist depictions of Indigenous peoples. Items originating with George and Pearl date from the early to mid-twentieth century.

Patrick Bush contributed memorabilia related to his studies at the University of British Columbia, particularly his graduation and his membership in the Sigma Epsilon chapter of the Zeta Psi fraternity. Records originating with Patrick Bush date from the mid to late 1950s.

Records are arranged by subject in files. For example, all memorabilia related to the Canadian Pacific Railway Company is aggregated, as are records of Patrick Bush’s university attendance. Records reflect the C.D.C.’s functions as a public information resource and activist organization and its close working relationship with the Vancouver Chile Association and various labour organizations. C.D.C. also regularly corresponded with provincial and federal Canadian government offices concerning Canada’s relationship with Chile, particularly its economic relationship. Contents include: posters, leaflets, and other promotional materials for events, conference, and boycotts; published materials (including editions of Chile News, newsletters, and bound copies of conference and UN proceedings); newspaper clippings about activism, Chilean refugees in Canada, and conditions in Chile; correspondence; administrative records; and event photographs.

The fonds consists of business records of the Carleton CCF Club (Vancouver), including cancelled cheques, ledgers, bingo receipts and an unidentified photograph.

This fonds consists of lists of lecturers, curriculum vitae, minutes, newspaper clippings and photographs; it is divided between administrative and lectures series.

Fonds consists almost entirely of records documenting UBC’s administration of the Cedar Lodge Society and the Skeleem Village Recovery Centre – the only major item from outside that period is a copy of the Society’s original articles of incorporation from 1969. The records are arranged in three series – General, Board of Directors and Committees, and Subject Files – and include correspondence, minutes, reports, and legal documents. There is some overlap in the contents of the three series.

The fonds itself is divided into twenty series: circulars, memoranda and correspondence, advertisements, reports, statistics, lists, legal documents, agreements, briefs, bulletins, committees, International Trade Commission, financial records, governance, minutes, newsletters, news releases and audio-visual material.

This fonds consists of records related to Darryl Adams' activities as a political and social justice activist as well as his personal life. The fonds consists of three series: personal life and administrative records; activism involvement series; and activism collections series.

Records relating to the first series, Adams' personal life and administrative files include: personal correspondence received by Adams; photographs collected, taken of or by Adams'; school records and club memberships memorabilia; news clippings and other articles; and work related records such as research materials and correspondence.

Records relating to the second series, the activism involvement series, include material created or used by groups that Adams was involved in such as the Vancouver American Exiles Association (VAEA), as well as the Galindo Madrid Case of the 1970s. These records include meeting minutes; correspondence; conference, seminar, and workshop materials; materials by or about other communist, socialist, or leftist organizations; papers, articles, speeches, critiques, letters, and reports on related topics; ephemera and publications, such as newsletters, journals, and clippings; and sound recordings such as interviews Adams' gave on behalf of VAEA.

The last series consists of three major collections that Adams obtained over his lifetime. The first collection is the lefty literature collection that consists of newspapers, magazines, periodicals, booklets and bulletins, and other publications related to leftist themes. The second collection is a poster collection and the last collection is a button collection.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, clippings, and reports of the Whalley NDP Club and its predecessors, the Newton local of the Socialist Party of Canada, East Whalley CCF Club and West Whalley CCF Club. Also included is a minute book of the Delta NDP constituency and outgoing letters from Len Shepherd (1938-1943).

Fonds consists of laboratory manuals published by the UBC Department of Physics between 1949 and 1966 (most dated 1957-1962); mimeographed hand-outs for experiments and other assignments; hand-written lecture notes; and a 1944 Canadian Army physics laboratory manual. Many of the manuals are annotated. The manuals are bound, but the notes and hand-outs are loose; all have been placed in acid-free folders. They are arranged by course number, and then chronologically; unnumbered materials, and folders containing unsorted material from various courses, were placed at the end.
Fonds also includes promotional materials, many of which relate specifically to the Department of Physics at university-wide Open Houses, annual reports from the Department of Physics, notes made by Professor John Warren regarding x-rays and particle physics, as well as photographs taken of individuals, groups, and events related to the Department of Physics.

The collection consists of a medal for bravery, likely awarded to a family member for meritorious service during the Boxer Uprising (義和團運動), which was a series of incidents in China with anti-imperialist and xenophobic roots that lasted from 1899 until 1901; and a fragment of a corresponding letter of recommendation. The medal was specifically awarded to the recipient for their conduct during the Siege of Tienstin, which was a major battle during the Boxer Uprising, and the letter of recommendation mentions a Mr. D’Arc, which is likely Desmond’s maternal grandfather who was a volunteer rifleman at Tientsin. Lastly, the collection contains an album consisting of photographs of Tientsin during and immediately after the Boxer Uprising. The album primarily includes photographs of troop movements and military equipment, but also includes a few personal family photographs.

The fonds consists of material relating to the founding and early history of the AUCE on campus.

Fonds consists of records reflecting Fenton’s activities as the president of the Local 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in B.C. and the Executive Board representative of the First District of the Pacific District Council of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, spanning approximately from 1912 to 1913. These records are arranged in chronological order. Textual records in the fonds primarily consist of incoming correspondence from the U.S. to E.Tilford Fenton as the president of the I.B.E.W. in B.C., general circulars and reports from Pacific District Council, and administrative documents of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Personal correspondence of E. Tilford Fenton spans primarily from 1914 to 1915. These records are also arranged in chronological order. The fonds is arranged into the following four series: office correspondence; general circulars; administrative documents; and personal correspondence.

The fonds consists of letters, documents, records and printed material, concerning Starkin's attempts to be reclassified for the American military draft and his involvement with the Vancouver Exiles Association. Also included are transcripts of interviews (1975) for the film Salt of the Earth, concerning British Columbia labour history, produced by Starkins.

Fonds consists of Dr. Whittaker’s records as a member of the SSFC and MOST. It includes records of the meetings of various committees, councils, and panels in which Dr. Whittaker attended as well as records of various issues and topics related to SSFC and MOST activities. Fonds consists of minutes, pamphlets, correspondence, reports, newspaper clippings and publications.

The fonds consists of minutes, financial and office files of the Energy and Chemical Workers Union Local 614 and its predecessors, the United Oil Workers Union Local 3, the Oil Workers International Union Local 614, and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union Local 16-614. The fonds also includes correspondence and agreements of Imperial Oil Ltd. relating to the initial unionization of workers at the Ioco Refinery, Ioco, B.C. (now Port Moody, B.C.), 1943-1946.

The fonds consists of reports and background material arising from the Student Services Review (1998), minutes from the Student Services (1998-2000) and Enrolment Services Management Committee (2001-2002) meetings, course calendars and other publications from Student Services, and posters.

The fonds consists of records generated by the Faculty Association in pursuit of its mandate to promote the welfare of the Faculty and the University of British Columbia. The records were organized according to several filing schemes, which were alphabetical, and constantly changing. Lack of consistency in the arrangement of the records impeded access. The archivist grouped the files into fifteen identifiable series. The original file titles have been retained.

The fonds consists of minutes, reports, financial statements, statistics, correspondence, and architectural plans of the Faculty Club from its incorporation through 1994. These records reflect the activities of the Club and its committees. Also included are the Society's constitution and by-laws. Fonds consists of eleven series: Constitution and By-Laws, Annual General Meetings, Board of Directors, Committees, Administration, Finance, Physical Plant and Property, Membership, Printed Materials, Special Events, Faculty Club Art Collection, and Faculty Club Architectural Plans.

The fonds consists of the bound minutes of meetings of the Faculty held between 1915 and 1921. In addition, an oversize bound visitor registry (1959-1993) was acquired in 2020 and can be found in box 2.

Series consists of correspondence records from the Whitham, Clements, and Zoellner families. Correspondence includes those that were received by various family members as well as those that were sent among family member. Series includes records such as letters, postcards, official documents, and ephemera. Some photos are pasted into pages of text and have not yet been separated. All photos, even those associated with correspondence files have been numbered as part of the family photographs series (12.2).

The collection consists of materials relating to the Committee on Continuing and Community Education activities in British Columbia (the Faris Committee), collected and maintained by Committee member Gordon Selman. It includes copies of briefs submitted to the Committee, correspondence, reports, and other documents relevant to the Committee's investigations. The collection is arranged in three series: briefs, letters, and miscellaneous.

Volunteer members and elected directors of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) created and kept records as part of their work carrying out the Federation’s major mandate: organizing mountain clubs from throughout the province of British Columbia to represent collective interests for self-propelled access to wilderness areas.

Ranging in date from the 1970’s to ca. 2018, records in the fonds document the FMCBC’s major activities in support of their mandate: administrative and executive activities, the creation of various committees and work undertaken by these committees, advocacy for various lands and parks throughout the province to be considered and maintained for public access, and educating and communicating to both members and the public on topics of relevant interest.

While the FMCBC as an organizational body created the majority of these records, some records in the fonds were created by related organizations, such as the British Columbia Mountaineering Club, governmental committees, or natural resource extraction companies. The majority of records within the fonds are textual, though some other record types are present, including maps, photographs and ephemera.
