The fonds consists primarily of Alan Haig-Brown's written and photographic works on the marine industry in Canada and internationally. Textual records include annotated drafts for several of Haig-Brown's books, hand-written notes, newspaper clippings, design schematics and correspondence.

The fonds also contains audio recordings of interviews and oral histories with figures in the maritime trades.

The fonds consists of the business records created and/or collected by Lazara Press and its founder Penny Goldsmith, predominately from the early 1980s to the late 1990s. The records are loosely divided into two main categories: administrative and publication records. The administrative records contain material documenting the different functions of Lazara Press, including promotional/distribution information, financial records, memberships information, and correspondence Lazara Press had with other printing presses and booksellers in Canada and in Europe. Other administrative records include materials pertaining to projects Goldsmith was involved in, either as a representative of Lazara Press or of her own initiative.

The publication records contain material relating to the publication process of the various broadsheets, chapbooks, volumes of poetry, plays, short stories, and essays printed by Lazara Press. These records include drafts and manuscripts, layouts and prototypes, as well as the published editions of many of these works. Other records include correspondence between Lazara Press and various authors, contracts, promotional information, reviews, and distribution lists.

Fonds consists of documents related to Stacey's career as a fisherman, historian, writer, researcher, curator, and consultant. Materials include correspondence, photographs, recorded interviews, reports, handwritten notes, clippings, research materials, prints, postcards, ephemera and other documents.

The "Gulf of Georgia files" series was arranged by the records creator and has been respected. All other series have been imposed by the archivist and arranged according to materials that relate to Stacey's roles as expert witness in various trials, historical and industrial researcher, collector and curator, and commercial fisherman, respectively. Where correspondence and photographs were stored separately by the records creator, they have been retained together in series according to their document type; otherwise, file integrity has been respected and these materials may be found in other series as well.

A significant amount of material, consisting primarily of copies of photographs obtained by Stacey from various archival institutions, has been removed.

The records include those necessary to fulfill its functions of managing and administrating the organization, advocating and lobbying, and ensuring safety and security, as well as those used as resources. Resources and subject files span the topics of abortion history in Canada and abroad, legal matters, grey literature, information about similar external organizations, and related topics in the news. Pro-CAN also kept extensive files on anti-choice groups and individuals along with their behaviors, photographs, and letters.

The fonds was originally divided into the following four series: Correspondence; Editorial; Administrative; and Special projects. The Correspondence series contains the following subseries: General correspondence, Editorial correspondence and Correspondent-specific correspondence. The Editorial series contains the following subseries: Early manuscripts, General literary manuscripts, Published/printed material, Artwork, and Supplementary editorial records. Hubert Bunce, Sr. fonds

Fonds consists of documents spanning Bunce’s career in the forestry sector, covering both his paid and volunteer work. The bulk of the material relates to his work as a forestry consultant at Reid, Collins & Associates and his work on several national forestry committees. Additional material relates to his years as a graduate student, his early career, his involvement with various professional associations, and his years as part owner of a woodlot near Maple Ridge, BC. Also included are articles he published and notes from presentations that he gave.

The archivist removed some documents that had come with the original donation, but that did not have significant value. These included duplicates, published material available elsewhere, personal documents (such as hotel reservations and journal subscription receipts), and loose documents that had no context. Also removed were documents that contained personal and/or confidential information, such as school transcripts of individuals besides Bunce and private documents of company's for whom Bunce did consulting work.

Some works that Bunce had collected, but not authored, were removed from this fonds and added to the library’s general collection.

Records relating to Scott’s political activities include material generated or used by groups with which Scott was involved, such as the Progressive Workers’ Movement (PWM), the Vancouver Study Group (VSG), the Red Star Collective (RSC), and the Chinese-Canadian Friendship Association (CCFA). These records include meeting minutes and summaries; committee lists, agendas, reports, policies, constitutions, financial statements, and other internal documents; position, discussion, and opinion papers and critiques; conference, seminar, and workshop materials; correspondence; materials by or about other communist, socialist, or leftist organizations; papers, articles, speeches, critiques, letters, and reports on related topics; ephemera and publications, such as newsletters and journals; clippings and photographs; and other materials. This fonds consists of records related to Bruce Devitt’s activities in the field of forestry in British Columbia as well as his public service in managing critical environmental issues in the Pacific Northwest. The fonds includes news clippings, research papers, letters, transparencies for presentations, and meeting minutes, among other textual content. The photographic material encompasses black and white and color photos in a variety of sizes as well as slides, all pictures pertain to forestry practice in British Columbia.

Kudo Family Fonds

Fonds reflects Minoru Kudo’s involvement within the Japanese Canadian community both before and after World War II as well as the Kudo family’s experience of forced removal and its impacts on their lives moving forward. If offers insight into the actions taken by the British Columbia Securities Commission during the process of the forced removal of Japanese Canadian families from B.C. and the advocacy work of Japanese Canadians, as individuals and through groups such as the National Association of Japanese Canadians, to receive redress following the end of the war, both through the The Royal Commission on Japanese Claims(the Bird Commission) and outside of it. In addition to these materials, the fonds also illustrates the work of younger generations of Japanese Canadians to uncover and reconnect with their history. The fonds contains research files from the Kudo family, who worked to document and bring together recollections of the Mission City Japanese community as it existed before the war and where families were for forcibly removed to during it, as well as the Kudo family’s history specifically. A significant portion of the fonds is the translation work done by Kathleen Merken on Minoru Kudo’s diaries.
The materials are arranged into three series, reflecting the different time periods and purposes in which the documents were created. The Minoru Kudo diaries and correspondence series contains the original diaries and correspondence of Minoru Kudo as well as photocopies that were made by Kathleen Kudo for reference and preservation purposes. The translations series contains records relating to the translation of the diaries by Kathleen Merken, research files were used to add context to the translations, and the translations themselves. The family records series contains genealogical research files, files documenting the deaths of various members of the Kudo family, and some personal records of Kathleen Merken that speak to her academic history and work.

W.G. Burch fonds

Many of the records in this fonds were used in relation to Burch’s autobiography, and therefore pertain to his childhood, education, navy service, and largely to his career as a forester. These records include genealogical research materials, photographs, educational certificates, navy service records, and textual documentation of his career and interests in forestry. It also reflects other projects undertaken by Burch, such as the Working Forest publication, a history of South Vancouver Island, as well as papers, research, correspondence, and speeches. The fonds consists of thirteen series of records pertaining to the activities of Thomas Berger, including two series of files arranged with reference to file classification schemes, related to party politics and to the Sardar Sarovar Projects Independent Review, as well as eleven series of subject files generally arranged alphabetically, related to the Royal Commission on Family and Children’s Law, the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry, the Advisory Commission on Indian and Inuit Health Consultation, a proposed United Nations Environmental Programme inquiry on whales and whaling, Japanese Canadians’ redress, the Alaska Native Review Commission, the Canadian Judicial Council and its investigation concerning Berger, the University of British Columbia President’s Ad Hoc Committee on British Columbia Native Indian People and Communities, the Simon Fraser University J. S. Woodsworth Chair committee, speeches given by Berger (arranged by event in subseries of two to seven year periodic groups), and subject files related to aboriginal peoples, the Arctic and the north in general.
There are also files related to his resignation from the Supreme Court of Canada in 1981. The files were used by Berger when he wrote his autobiography <em>One Man’s Justice: A Life in the Law</em>.

The arrangement by the records’ creator of series and file order within series has been respected. Several series contain files housed in multiple folders, indicated by notes where applicable.

The fonds consists of records relating to the education, research, career, and post-retirement activities of David Narver. The fonds is organized into three series: Postdoctoral Education; Career; and Personal. The Postdoctoral Education series includes records related to Narver’s PhD research while enrolled at the University of Washington. Narver worked as a researcher at the Canadian Fisheries Research Board Biological Station in Nanaimo, BC, and in Chignik, Alaska, working on salmon research projects. The Career series covers records related to Narver’s three-decade career. Narver worked for the BC Ministry of Environment, Fisheries Branch and Fish and Wildlife Branch, as Anadromous Fisheries Coordinator, Acting Chief of Fisheries Management, and Director of the Fisheries Branch. Records in the Career series include speeches and presentations, official correspondence, policy and administrative records (including meeting minutes), and research reports. The Personal series includes records related to Narver’s undergraduate or graduate post-secondary education, speeches and presentations given after his retirement, and a manuscript of his account of his time in Alaska. Narver remained active in fish, fishing, and fish habitat work after his retirement, working with the BC Wildlife Federation among other organizations.

The fonds also reflects his role as an art teacher, including cards he received from his students and photographs of paintings created by his students. The fonds also contains evidence of his personal life and career, both prior to and during his involvement with the folk song community, and some evidence of his role as a musician, including records related to performances and musical composition.
Material includes articles, music sheets, correspondence, photographs, and a film reel. The first three accruals of the fonds were arranged into three series: Research, Publications, and Folk Song Societies and Festivals. Upon receiving the 2020 accrual, the archivist added the following three series: Music, Art, Personal and Career.

The fonds reflects the efforts of Bob Williams’ political and business career. Records in the fonds relate to Williams’s various roles: teacher, M.L.A., community planning consultant, Minister, chair of ICBC, and Secretary of Crown Corporations. As such, the records relate both to Williams’ personal career as well as British Columbia's governmental systems of resource management, transportation, forestry, energy, housing, and recreation. The Ministry of Forests Lands and Water Resources Records series relates to Williams's time spent on the provincial cabinet working under the government of Dave Barret. Records consist primarily of correspondence, especially between Williams and major corporations and individuals in the forest industry. Other records include reports, studies, news clippings, bills and acts, speeches, presentation materials, and transcripts.

The Crown Corporations records series is comprised of documents stemming from Williams' activities as chair of ICBC, and his work in the Crown Corporations. Many records relate to the construction of Surrey City Centre. Record types include correspondence, reports, legal documents, and news clippings.

The Business, Personal and Academic Records series contains records related Williams’ business career, personal memories and diaries, pictures and travel memorabilia, and his experiences meeting other politicians. Print photographs depict locations relevant to the Becker Project and a group portrait. The fonds contains reference material that predates the formation of the corporate creator.

The contents of the fonds pertain to the life and work of Crawford Kilian. The focuses of Kilian’s writing are science fiction, educational systems and teaching, cultural issues and history, the economy, the environment, and technological developments, specifically the Internet. Writing material included in this fonds ranges from the 1960’s to the 2000’s. Other included material relates to Kilian’s time spent in China as an English teacher. The type of material in the fonds is primarily handwritten and typed paper records, but also includes newspaper, compact discs and publications.

The fonds contains a file of his correspondence with The Vancouver Sun, which was kept by the Sun and later given to Nicol. His writings are categorized into radio scripts, television scripts, stage scripts, books, articles, short stories and other writings. Drafts and related materials of each category comprise a series.
