Athletics photographs series

The photographs in this fonds contain headshots of individual UBC athletes, coaches, managers, and administrators. Also included are team photographs, action shots, mascots and cheer squads. In addition, there are images of the Bobby Gaul Memorial Trophy presentations, Big Block and UBC Hall of Fame events. Unidentified images have been retained; specifically, unknown women athletes and teams were retained as women’s sports are underrepresented. Predominant sports represented in the photos include Thunderbirds football, ice hockey, volleyball, basketball, field hockey, soccer, swimming and rowing. There are photos of UBC athletes and teams in fencing, rugby, wrestling, gymnastics, tennis, square dancing, curling, skiing, sailing and cross country track and field.

Seniority Lists & Retirement

File contains lineman and groundman's seniority lists for Peterson Electric, B.C. Electric and possible others (not all lists are identified).

Reverend A.H. Cameron collection

Reverend A.H. Cameron arrived in Keremeos in 1906 and established a Presbyterian church where he presided as its first minister for many years. He captured a large number of pictures during his tenure, leaving a photographic record of local affairs. Subseries consists of photographs attributed to him.

Ephemera

Records in this series include items of an ephemeral nature created and used during WWII, specifically at or relating to the Santo Tomas Internment Camp. Records include envelopes, sets of cards, examples of daily sanitary paper items, and temporary currency.

Kitchen Planning History Slides

File consists of 22 b&w prints depicting the changes in kitchen design trends from about the 1930s to 1960s (estimated). Also included is one typewritten page with a partial descriptive inventory of the prints.

Photograph series

The series consists of 379 photographs that feature Frank Gnup, beginning in his late teens through his career as a football coach at the University of British Columbia. Images numbered 61.1/1-158 have been scanned and added to the UBC Historical Photographs database at: digitalcollections.library.ubc.ca.
The remaining miscellaneous photographs have not been described individually and are stored in with the textual material in Box 10, OVR1 61.1/159, and OVR3 61.1/160.

The [W?]ilbands

The Wilbands [Hilbands?] were friends of the Charlton family. Originally from Ruskin, B.C. On verso: "May be [W]ilbands (Ruskin)".

Student Papers

Series consists of papers on various topics by UBC School of Nursing students, mostly upper level or graduate. Many are for courses, particularly Nursing 440 (Nursing Care of Adults and Families), offered by Ethel Warbinek or Denise Fargey. Five of the papers are by Anne Wyness.

Soccer series

The records in the Soccer Series consist of game sheets for men’s and women’s soccer games, predominantly for 2013-2014. Also found are newspaper clippings, media guides, and soccer programs. Further newspaper clippings and soccer programs can be found in the Media and Promotions Series.

Photographic Material series

Series consists of photographic prints, negatives and slides, divided into very general categories, including Sam Black and family, Black artwork and photographs taken by Black during his travels. The pictures of artwork, used in conjunction with the cancellation proofs and the lino- and woodblock prints, provide a vital record in documenting the breadth of Black's artistic output during his career.

Hand-Written Volumes of Poetry and Prose

Sub-series consists of volumes of poetry and prose of nineteenth century authors compiled by Norman Colbeck and written by his hand. The sub-series also contains several notebooks kept by Norman Colbeck containing notes and information about authors, manuscripts, and his book-dealing activities.
Title based on contents of sub-series.

Memorabilia subseries

Subseries consists of degrees, certificates, driver's license, passports, sketchbooks, telephone books, commemorative plate, and other materials about Verner's schooling and personal life.

Offprints series - Others

Series consists of offprints and published speeches and represents a considerable number of subjects. Most of them were given to Daniells by friends. He was very interested in cross-disciplinary topics, which is reflected by this series.

Personal and administrative records

Records include correspondence between Kujundzic and family, friends, other artists, and fans; curriculum vitae and biographical information; references, job applications, and promotion records; personal notes and writings to art organizations; travel and immigration documents; photographs; and posthumous administration records.

Ruth Saunders

Subfonds consists of one folder of papers related to Ruth Saunders’ life and career. These include copies of pages in English from the History of the Wonju Union Christian Hospital, the original of which was sent to the United Church of Canada Archives in Toronto. The original of a photocopied framed photograph of the CWAC Military Band No. 3 has been returned to the family. A copy of a presentation by Dr. Young Suk Park and Glennis Zilm titled “Preserving a Tiger’s Treasures: Artifacts as a Research Tool” on Ruth Saunders’ artifacts, dated Jun 10, 2011, is included.
