The contents of this collection pertain to the Santo Tomas Interment Camp in the Philippines during WWII. The camp was active from 1942 to 1945 and housed over 4,000 prisoners-of-war.

The focuses of Kilian’s writing are science fiction, educational systems and teaching, cultural issues and history, the economy, the environment, and technological developments, specifically the Internet. Writing material included in this fonds ranges from the 1960’s to the 2000’s. Other included material relates to Kilian’s time spent in China as an English teacher. The type of material in the fonds is primarily handwritten and typed paper records, but also includes newspaper, compact discs and publications.

The collection reflects the genealogical interests of its collector, Robert Alvey, with a particular focus on the life of his first cousin once removed, A. The fonds consists of one album of photographs taken by Sage between September 1945 and August 1946 at a relocation camp near Tashme, B.C. where she was a social worker. The photographs include general views of the scenery, individuals and groups and some smaller buildings. In addition to the camp shots, there are also pictures of Japanese Canadians preparing for relocation. The album also includes a newspaper clipping, post card and a typescript article about the Tashme Camp. The fonds also includes a small body of correspondence written by Margaret Sage to her parents Walter and Nelda Sage and to her brother Donald (1945/46).

She has served in various capacities on numerous boards and professional organizations including the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, Save the Children, the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation, and the Trans-Himalayan Aid Society. She has received numerous awards and recognitions in her lifetime, but for her dedication to the global health community, she was appointed as an officer in the Order of Canada. Her personal interests included her family, Canadian history, and nature.

Records span a period from Simons’ early years in university to 2012 and were created predominantly in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Travel Records series aggregates records from Simons’ three major trips: Europe from 1959-1961; Japan, Hong Kong, and India from 1967-1968; and Hong Kong, Burma, India, and Japan in 1986. Simons attended many plays, conferences, and art shows while traveling and preserved programs as a source of inspiration for her creative work. Simons also maintained correspondence with friends and family during her travels. Record types include programs, personal and professional correspondence, personal photographs, and Simons’ notes on various activities.

Fonds reflect Jean Rands’s interest and activism in feminist labour organizing in western Canada and her speaking and writing around these issues, and also contains records relating to her family and personal connections. Fonds consists of materials documenting the lives and careers of Lorne and May Brown and includes two self-published biographies (Lorne Brown Remembered and May Brown – A collection of stories), four photographs of Lorne Brown, a newspaper clipping about Camp Deka, and some of Lorne Brown’s UBC personnel records.

Series consists of Dorothy and W.J. Zoellner’s family home movies. All the movies were captured on 8mm film. Home movies depict various family events such as school events, family vacations, weddings, and new babies.

The fonds also contains personal records related to family matters and friends as well as Hutterli's job as teacher in Bern.

Fonds consists of correspondence, clippings, speeches, minutes, financial records and subject files created by the Chancellor's Office in the process of carrying out of its administrative and ceremonial functions as well as in the Chancellor's role as a member of the Senate. In addition, the fonds includes personal papers created by John M. Buchanan, Allan M. McGavin and Nathan T. Nemetz while holding the position of Chancellor.

The fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, minutes, memoranda, personal notes, diaries, photographs, videos and an assortment of ephemera created or collected by Carney over her years in federal politics. The fond consists predominantly of materials reflecting Carney's political life. Records from her years in the Official Opposition (1980-1984) and in government (1984-1988) consist of parliamentary reports, minutes from Neighbourhood Nights and correspondence from constituents. The majority of materials reflect Carney's tenure as Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources (1984-1986), and Minister of International Trade (1986-1988). For dates during the evolution of both the Atlantic and Western Accords, these records include correspondence between Carney and provincial premiers, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, and provincial Ministers of Energy. Records from the FTA include a copy of the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, correspondence with Simon Reisman, Finance Minister Michael Wilson, Mulroney, and other Cabinet Ministers. FTA materials also include correspondence and newspaper clippings from the tenth anniversary of the FTA. The records also include copious handwritten notes from Carney's participation on the Priorities and Planning Committee of the Cabinet. The fonds also includes records from State Visits of the Prince and Princess of Wales and American Vice-President George Herbert Walker Bush to Expo 86, as well as State Visits by President and Mrs. Reagan of the United States and President and Mrs. Mitterrand of France. The fonds also contains records documenting Carney's career as a Senator, including a series dedicated to the Task Force on Barriers to Women in the Public Service. Also, the records contain a series of Carney's School of Community and Regional Planning teaching materials as well as limited amounts from both her private life and her career as an economic journalist.

The fonds consists of Ujjal Dosanjh’s private records from 1977 to 2015, comprising of all aspects of Donsanjh’s life in Canada. A prominent portion relates to his lifelong advocacy of Indo-Canadian issues. Particular matters addressed include Sikh extremism, the Khalistan movement, the bombing of Air India flight 182, and the Komagata Maru incident. Many records of a long political career, split between the provincial level; as a BC MLA, attorney general, and premier; and the federal level in the roles Minister of Health and a member of parliament; document the years between 1979 to 2011. These records are wide ranging and diverse in terms of their topics and functions. An extensive collection of scrapbooks contains contemporary media reaction related to Dosanjh's political and community work.
