The fonds consists of records relating to the ABPBC’s activities. Records cover the period of time from the ABPBC’s inception to 2015 and pertain primarily to the book publishing industry in the province of British Columbia. The ABPBC’s activities included applying for funding from a range of provincial and federal organizations and governments, holding meetings, advocating for their members to the provincial government, promoting their members, undertaking special projects, and researching areas pertinent to the provincial book publishing industry. Specific administrative activities the organization undertook included maintaining its multi-level membership base, managing finances and funding applications, electing executive teams, and overseeing various projects.

The fonds contains records of the ACSOH, Habitat I and Vision Habitat, as well as Oberlander’s records related to Habitat II, World Urban Forums 2 and 3, and other UN Habitat associated activities and research. Contents mainly consist of correspondence, reports, publications, governance and planning documentation and research.

Included are manuscripts of Vancouver Workers' Theatre dramas and poetry, subject files on Israel, clippings, pamphlets on cooperative farming, and records from the CCF Agricultural Committee and the Trade Union Committee.

Records of the Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada include convention material, national executive board minutes, constitutional material and correspondence. In addition, MacPhee collected a series of constitutions of labour organizations and collective agreements, primarily from the forest products industry. The collection also includes correspondence, minutes and constitutions of the Western Canada Council of Pulp and Paper Mill Unions and of the Prince Rupert Labour Council.

The collection consists of records of the provincial office of the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation and general research material pertaining to socialism and the labour movement. It consists of minutes, scrapbooks, office correspondence and files relating to party organization and records of committees, CCF clubs, constituencies, federal ridings and election. The collection also includes records generated by Arthur Turner as CCF Whip and Arnold Webster as a provincial party leader. Subject files pertaining to early socialists and clippings about international affairs were created by Dorothy Steeves. Subsequent accessions added to the collection have included the records of Angus MacInnis, Francis McKenzie and former provincial leader Ernest Winch.

The fonds also contains office subject files such as general correspondence (1908-1970), correspondence with B.C. Hydro and Power Authority (1962), meeting attendance records (1957-1961), political education committee records (1957-1961), and minute books, correspondence and attendance books relating to Pacific Stage Lines (1935-1979).

The fonds consists of four series: Personal Papers, the Canadian Radio League, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and Dorothy Plaunt Dyde. Fonds contains correspondence, financial records, subject files, clippings, reports, submissions, publicity material, and other documentary forms. The Plaunt correspondence contains a detailed record of the events surrounding the history of the Canadian Radio League, the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission (1932), and the Act creating the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
