Fonds consists of worksheets prepared by students in the Department of Creative Writing. Each worksheet is essentially a small magazine, with poems and short stories by students and notices of interest. The frequency of the worksheets varies, as does their size (between 10 and 40 pages). They are filed according to their issue numbers within each year.

The collection consists of materials gathered by Karl Ruppenthal as course aids for subjects taught mainly at Stanford University as part of the Transportation Management Program. The bulk of the collection consists of copies of transportation industry publications, published regulatory decisions and reports and related documents, and transcripts of addresses and speeches by other individuals, along with related correspondence and newspaper and magazine clippings. There are no papers in the collection generated by Ruppenthal himself, apart from copies of letters requesting materials from corporations and regulatory bodies, and some written notes. Fonds consists of reports, printed materials, publications, conference proceedings and programs, correspondence, minutes, memoranda, and contracts pertaining to MacPhee's personal and professional life. Fonds is arranged in seven series: Biographical Information, MacPhee Family Genealogy, General Scottish History, Books and Articles by MacPhee, Banff School of Advanced Management, and History of the Faculty of
Commerce and Business Administration series. The latter series includes materials relating to the history he prepared for the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration in 1976.

The fonds comprised of two series of records. The first series, History of Medicine at UBC (1936-1976), contains correspondence, memoranda, and reports relating to the proposed establishment of an Institute of Preventive Medicine (1936-1940). It also includes records associated with the preparation and execution of the Medical Education survey (1946), correspondence and reports relating to the Department of Bacteriology and Preventive Medicine (1951-1955), and a history of the UBC Medical School (1976). Records of the Royal Society of Canada comprise the second series. A large portion of this material reflects the efforts of the Society to participate in the formulation and implementation of a national science policy beginning from the mid-1960s through to the early 1970s.
