Series consists of newsletters documenting shingle and shake applicators in the lower mainland, application costs for roofs and walls, information about the Canadian Wood Council, and information of a variety of conferences relating to shingle and shakes specifically and wood more broadly.

Scrapbooks.

Series consists of five scrapbooks with newspaper clippings and brief articles about timber and lumber related issues including articles on pulp and plywood, news about shingle mill fires, information about the Truck Loggers’ Association, railway lumber rates, machine grooved shakes, and lumber exports.

Shingle boycott.

Series contains records relating to the Consolidation of Red Cedar Shingles Association of British Columbia’s involvement in the shingle boycott. Material consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, and letters concerning the boycott of Canadian shingles in the United States. The majority of the press clippings are from various newspapers in Seattle, Washington.

Statistics.

Series contains records relating to statistics used by the Consolidation of Red Cedar Shingles Association of British Columbia. Material consists of correspondence with the Dominion Bureau of Statistics and statistics relating to the import of shingles into Canada from the United States.

Trademark and Brands.

Series contains records relating to the Edgewood trademark owned by the Consolidated Red Cedar Shingle Association of British Columbia. Materials include correspondence with other forestry organization regarding the use of the Edgewood logo, correspondence with attorneys, the patent certificate for the registration of the trademark, request for re-registration of the trademark and examples of the proper use of the logo. Series consists of meeting minutes related to the Plywood Manufacturers Association of British Columbia committees. Material contains ledger books with meeting minutes pasted inside, type and handwritten minutes.
The series is divided into two sub-series: Board of Directors and Management Committee meetings.

Board of Directors

Sub-series consists of meeting minutes that outline the attendees, reports and recommendations from various committees, dates of other meetings relating to the PMBC, discussion concerning the promotion of western softwood plywood, and budget discussions.

Sub-series contains meeting minutes of the Council of Forest Industries’ Board of Directors. Series contains photographs relating to the Council of Forest Industries activities.
