The fonds consists of records chronicling the development of the Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation from 1955 to 2015. It includes grant applications, reports and related correspondence pertaining to the Foundation's activities. Box 96 contains personal items related to Koerner that decorated the foundation offices.

The fonds consists of agreements and printed material detailing the activities of the United Steelworkers of America in British Columbia (1966-1973) and personal correspondence relating to King's activities (1973-1975).

Fonds consists of records of the Vancouver Chapter of the Association of Records Managers (ARMA). Records in the fonds have come in multiple accruals. The first six accruals are described and inventoried in the attached pdf. The 2014 accrual is described and inventoried within this database record. Fonds materials include a history of the Vancouver Chapter, incorporation file, annual reports, financial records, minutes, correspondence, photographs from events, printed and published material, awards and award documents, and clippings relating to the activities of the Association.

The fonds also includes correspondence, subject files, collective agreements and financial records from the union offices in Prince Rupert and Kitimat/Terrace.

The fonds consists of B.C. Electric Office Employees' Association minutes (1921-1955) and office files (1929-1962); OEIU, Local 378 minutes (1955-1964); OTEU, Local 378 minutes (1964 -1980) and office files (1952-1978); office files for the various B.C. Electric and B.C. Hydro affiliates (1962-1978) and miscellaneous subject files. The latest accession consists of records relating to labour arbitrations between the Labour Relations Board of B.C. and Union employees.

The fonds consists of provincial and federal riding files (1963-1972), correspondence and financial records (1968-1971), four photographs and four posters of Robert L. Stanfield.

The fonds consists of correspondence and writings of R.A. Shiomi and material relating to the activities of, and Shiomi's participation in, the Japanese Canadian Citizens Association. There is also some material on the issue of the internment of Japanese Canadians during World War II.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, notes, speeches, minutes, press releases, clippings and printed material arising from Shearer's career as social activist, planner, and teacher (1975-1988). Records include much material relating to the Solidarity Coalition, human rights, and the Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia.

The fonds consists of the financial records of Dwyer's funeral home in Kamloops, B.C. and personal records of R.H. Dwyer (1910-1953). Included in the financial records are income tax returns (1931-1949), journals (1910-1945), ledgers (1917-1943), synoptic ledger sheets (1944- 1952), agreements (1952-1953) and purchase orders (1945-1950). The personal records contain information pertaining to the Kamloops Masonic Temple Association.

The fonds consists of records related to the Service, Office, and Retail Workers Union of Canada’s (SORWUC’s) local chapters 2 and 4 administrative activities, organizing endeavours and legal proceedings. Although the records are primarily related to the United Bank Works (UBW), local 2, and Bank and Finance Workers Union, local 4, many records are related to SORWUC’s national activities as a trade union. These activities include organization and certification of new bargaining units, filing unfair labour practices on behalf of union members, pamphleting and raising funds for the union as a whole, organizing strikes, and fighting court battles for the right to organize in new sectors, such as the banks. Additionally, SORWUC kept various reference materials on topics related to feminism and the rights of laborers. The fonds reflect these different organizational activities in three series: Legal, Organizing, and Administration.

The Legal series consists of records related to the union’s legal activities. These records include Unfair Labour Practice (ULP) charges filed against banks and heard by the Canadian Labour Relations Board (CLRB), applications for certification in the CLRB, notes, correspondence, news clippings, and legal briefs.

The Organizing series consists of material relating to the organizing activities of SORWUC, including correspondence, research, membership forms, sign-up sheets and information relating to bank branches seeking certification. Also included are contract proposals, organizing committee papers by branch, and minutes of negotiation meetings, press clippings and press releases.

The Administration series relates to the various administrative activities of SORWUC locals 2 and 4; including financial activities, research for court cases, as well as related issues to the union such as unemployment and racism; public relations documents including press releases; and minutes of meetings.

The fonds consists of minutes, agendas, reports, correspondence, notebooks, financial records, lists, speeches and subject files generated by the Vancouver-Kingsway Constituency Association of the NDP (1972- 1975). Also included are minutes of the Vancouver East Riding Association (1957-1958), records of the CCF Provincial Executive (1955-1959), minutes of the Greater Vancouver Water and Drainage Workers (1964-1966), maps, surveys and photographs.

The fonds consists of office files, log books, minutes, posters and buttons. The office files consist mainly of correspondence, including that with the Canadian Peace Congress and the World Peace Council, and printed material. Some of the correspondence include the Pacific National Exhibition.

The fonds consists of the records of the B.C. Youth Parliament dating from its first session in 1924. It includes journals of the House, correspondence relating to sessions and group activities, membership lists, reports, press clippings, press releases, records relating to playground development in urban housing complexes, records reflecting the administration and operations of the Parliament, and photographs.

The fonds consists of minute books, correspondence, photographs, newsletters, historical accounts, printed material and ephemera which reflect the Association's mandate to help camp leaders coordinate camping work in the province, establish standards and safeguards for camping and to stimulate community interest in the activity.

The fonds consists of research files compiled during the writing of Paul Phillip's No Power Greater: A Century of Labour in British Columbia, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, political education material, history questionnaires and minutes of the Federation and affiliated associations. The fonds consists of material from the British Columbia Lawn Bowling Association, the British Columbia Ladies Lawn Bowling Association (and its predecessor the Dogwood Lawn Bowling Association), and the Ladies' Lawn Bowling Association of British Columbia. The records include correspondence, minutes, financial records, constitutions and bylaws, reports, lists, memoranda, publications, and a photograph. Although the bulk of the records document the period 1977 to 1997, there are also minutes of the Ladies' Lawn Bowling Association of B.C. for the period 1924 to 1973.

The fonds consists of minutes, membership records, financial records, correspondence and subject files from the office of the Registrar of the College. In addition, it includes prescription record books of early pharmacies in B.C. collected by the College.

The fonds consists of curators' reports (1925-1937), presidential addresses (1932-1958) and assorted publications and printed material.

The fonds consists of materials pertaining to the activities of the Advisory Committee on Cultural Policy and the Federal Cultural Policy Review Committee. Included are briefs, files, press clippings and committee publications.

The fonds consists of minutes, financial records, negotiations and agreements, speeches and subject files generated by the Fisheries Association. The subject files include information on the activities of the Association including labour, safety, pollution, resources, waste water and licence limitations. The material was primarily generated during the period 1955 to 1975, except for minutes of the Salmon Canners' Operating Committee (1943-1948), agreements (1946-1956) and one subject file on the Native Brotherhood of B.C. (1947-1958).

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, case files, convention material and other textual records relating to the activities of the Food and Service Workers of Canada Union and its predecessor unions, the Canadian Food and Associated Services Union and the White Spot Employees Union.

The fonds consists of records related to Vancouver Status of Women’s (VSW’s) administrative activities, projects and lobbying endeavours, production, marketing, and distribution of Kinesis, their activities related to their advocacy function, and research and reference resources. Although the nature of VSW’s activities has changed over time, the organization has consistently maintained a commitment to addressing social issues related to women, including gender discrimination, pay equity, familial violence, racism, and many more topics. VSW has addressed these issues through a variety of avenues, including publications, press releases, lobbying of governments, a television program, workshops, and services for individuals in Vancouver. The fonds reflects these diverse organizational interests and activities in six series: 1. Administrative and executive; 2. Projects and lobbying activities; 3. Research and reference resources; 4. Advocacy; 5. Kinesis; and 6. Kinesis photobank and production room materials. Additionally, the fonds contains alphabetized subject files dating predominantly 1971-1978. The initial accession and first accrual are grouped into sets and described in the attached PDF finding aid.

The Administrative and executive series contains records pertaining to operational and executive activities including finance, committee and volunteer administration, employee management, correspondence, and strategic planning for the organization. Record types include grant applications, correspondence, invoices and receipts, meeting minutes, training materials, and correspondence.

The Projects and lobbying activities series features the records of VSW’s numerous and diverse projects and lobbying activities. Record types include VSW briefs, press releases, submissions to government, research reports, publications, correspondence, indexes for back issues of Kinesis, and volunteer applications.

The Research and reference resources series comprises materials from third parties that VSW collected to support its research projects and the needs of its visitors. The series also contains VSW briefs, press releases, and reports inter-filed with research materials. Record types include briefs and reports from other organizations, newspaper and magazine clippings, VSW correspondence, grey literature, copies of academic journals, and cassette tapes in honour of International Women’s Day.

The Advocacy series features records related to VSW lobbying and advocacy activities. These activities primarily included organizing and participating in committees and task forces set up by all levels of government, lobbying, and preparing briefs on legislative documents and materials. Record types include: correspondence with the Ministry of Justice and different coalitions such as BC Coalition of Women Centres and the 52% Coalition; meeting agendas and minutes; information sheets and brochures; event invitations; and other materials arising from VSW’s lobbying and advocacy work.

The Kinesis series includes records related to production, publication, marketing, and distribution of Kinesis, Vancouver Status of Women’ most significant publication in BC. Record types include design sketches and proofs, advertising, readers’ correspondences and surveys, volunteer training manuals, staff self-evaluations, and monthly activity reports.

The Kinesis photobank and production room materials series contains materials from the production room of Kinesis. These materials predominantly reflect the production cycle of the magazine and its records organization system for photographic and graphic materials that were used in or collected for future use in the magazine. Records include photographs, negatives, contact sheets, ephemera, and administrative records.
