The fonds reflects Patrice Pratt’s political and labour union careers and her community organization involvement. Records in the fonds relate to Pratt’s various roles within the Federal and Provincial NDP, as President of the BCNDP and as a constituency, committee, council, and party member, the BCGEU and BC Federation of Labour. Records consist of professional and personal correspondence, reports, communications, reference and resource material, convention materials, pamphlets and programs, newspaper clippings, agendas, minutes, resolutions, constitutions, policies, membership lists, campaign and platform materials, publications, campaign buttons, banners and other material. The fonds is divided into three series: Federal NDP, Provincial NDP and Labour Unions. The Provincial NDP series consists of two subseries: BCNDP President and BCNDP Associations, Committees and Advocacy.

As Pratt held various roles simultaneously throughout her career and much of her union work informed her political career, this overlap is reflected in her files. Records are divided into series based on the role held by Pratt at the beginning of the process, resulting in some record dates falling outside the official boundaries of the role she was working in.

Volunteer members and elected directors of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia (FMCBC) created and kept records as part of their work carrying out the Federation’s major mandate: organizing mountain clubs from throughout the province of British Columbia to represent collective interests for self-propelled access to wilderness areas.

Ranging in date from the 1970’s to ca. 2018, records in the fonds document the FMCBC’s major activities in support of their mandate: administrative and executive activities, the creation of various committees and work undertaken by these committees, advocacy for various lands and parks throughout the province to be considered and maintained for public access, and educating and communicating to both members and the public on topics of relevant interest.

While the FMCBC as an organizational body created the majority of these records, some records in the fonds were created by related organizations, such as the British Columbia Mountaineering Club, governmental committees, or natural resource extraction companies. The majority of records within the fonds are textual, though some other record types are present, including maps, photographs and ephemera.

The fonds contains the following series: Administrative and Executive series, Committees Series, Lands and Parks series, and Education and Communication series.

Fonds reflects YWCA Metro Vancouver’s social and community services, programming, advocacy for women’s and gender issues, organizational administration, fundraising, publicity and communications management, and collaboration with affiliated service- and advocacy-based organizations.
Records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, annual reports, occasional reports, financial records, programs, publications, media clippings, collected reference material, photographs, videocassettes, and other material arising from the organization carrying out its functional activities over the decades.

The 1981 accession is arranged into series according to material type and subject: 1. Minutes; 2. Financial Records; 3. Reports; 4. General Correspondence; 5. Buildings; 6. Annual Reports; 7. Printed Material; 8. Lists; 9. Clippings; 10. Photograph Albums; 11. Scrap Books; 12. Miscellaneous; and 13. Subject Files. The fonds consists of administrative files including operating and project grants; correspondence; artist and project files relating to events, productions and exhibitions; and promotional and publicity materials. Some files include photographs and drawings.

The fonds have been arranged into nine series: general programming, administrative, exhibitions, Front Magazine, Luminous Sites, media arts and video program, new music, performance art, and publicity and promotional materials. As much as possible, the files are arranged as they were by the original curators and program administrators. Early records (1973-1983) for all the programs are grouped together. Video program files were separated starting in 1976 when the program began. Following 1983, the programs each had individual curators.

The fonds consists of administrative records, correspondence, publications, newspaper clippings, and educational and promotional materials related to the operations of the Canadians for Democracy in Chile (C.D.C.) and its relationships with various domestic (Canadian) and international organizations. Records reflect the C.D.C.’s functions as a public information resource and activist organization and its close working relationship with the Vancouver Chile Association and various labour organizations. C.D.C. also regularly corresponded with provincial and federal Canadian government offices concerning Canada’s relationship with Chile, particularly its economic relationship. Contents include: posters, leaflets, and other promotional materials for events, conference, and boycotts; published materials (including editions of Chile News, newsletters, and bound copies of conference and UN proceedings); newspaper clippings about activism, Chilean refugees in Canada, and conditions in Chile; correspondence; administrative records; and event photographs.

Fonds consists of materials documenting the activities of the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) during four general time periods: the pre-redress period (including records by the National Japanese Canadian Citizens’ Association before it became the NAJC), the birth and development of the redress movement in the 1980s, the implementation of redress following the September 1988 settlement (1988 – 1992), and the post-implementation period (1993-present). The fonds consists of records dating from 1907 to 2008, which provide a unique source of information particularly about student-related matters such as grades, university admissions, graduation and examinations. In addition to records generated by the Registrar's Office itself, there are also Faculty records (1915-1963) which were probably maintained by the Registrar who served as the secretary to Senate. The Registrar’s Office also maintained the records of the Senate’s committees, reports, and elections (1912-1930). There are also records related to the Sopron Division of the Faculty of Forestry (1957-2007). These records include handwritten transcripts and correspondence. The records have been largely retained in their physical order in which they were acquired - as a result, records from different series are often inter-filed together, making it difficult to distinguish them with any accuracy. The records on microfilm include correspondence, student registration cards, academic records, and information on scholarships and bursaries dating from 1913 to 1968. The Registrar's Office also collected copies of student examinations. In 1993 copies of student examinations from 1915 to 1969 were microfilmed and the originals destroyed.
