The correspondence relates to various subjects, including New's involvement in various professional organizations, requests for references, publishing firms, and correspondence with other academics that New met while attending conferences. The fonds consists of records which document William New's publications, lectures, and other activities between 1947 and 2018. Most of the series are based on published works written or edited by New. The remaining records relate to other projects, prizes, awards, papers, conferences, correspondence, or professional interests. Collectively, these records reflect New's various roles as professor, public speaker, editor, author, and poet.

The fonds consists of video recordings of various plays featured in the festival, photographs from some festival events and records pertaining to the administration of the festival. Administrative records take the form of promotional programs and posters, meeting minutes, agendas, memorandum, calendars, budgets, reports, newspaper clippings, notes, correspondence, handbooks, and some play scripts.

Series consists of textual materials created in order to run and promote the Brave New Play Rites festivals. Some folders were organized into a clear administrative folder that contains relevant records for one year, such as in 1994, while other materials were more interspersed in order by the creator. A significant majority of the materials are promotional in nature and include posters for the festival in addition to printed programs for each year. The titles and authors of student plays are often available in the programs. Other types of records included in this series are meeting minutes, agendas, memorandum, calendars, budgets, reports, newspaper clippings, notes, correspondence, handbooks and some play scripts.

The fonds consists of audio recordings of Weisgarber compositions or performances (1957-1999); musical scores, drafts and sketches (1941-1996); and research materials generated or accumulated by Weisgarber in the preparation of an unpublished biography of Aurelio Giorni, a manuscript entitled “Flute Music of Zen,” and an article "The Honkyoku of the Kinko-Ryu: Some Principles of its Organization" (1968). It also consists of family and personal records, including correspondence, fictitious and biographical writings and journals written by Elliot, Beth, and their family.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. Also included are documents related to a workshop organized by SATE (Swiss Association of Teachers in English), and correspondence with Canadian authors. The materials consist of textual records (correspondence, notes, drafts, and readers’ reports), published materials, and a 3.5” computer floppy disk containing a digital manuscript of Bright Circles of Colours.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of his novels and short stories, issues of underground newspapers, audio recordings of Maillard's radio shows, musical scores, correspondence with other writers, and reference files for his works. It also contains extensive electronic backups of his manuscripts, digital notes, and journals on floppy diskettes. It also contains artwork and photographs of important objects, people, and places.

The collection consists of materials collected or acquired from various sources that document the history of the Sopron Division of Forestry and its alumni. In addition, it includes a set of the Kapocs Sopron alumni newsletter.

Kapocs (“The Link”) is a newsletter created and distributed by alumni of the Sopron Division of Forestry to document the stories and activities of Sopron graduates. The contents of Kapocs are written almost entirely in Hungarian.

Records relating to the university's founding in its earliest days include records of the early days of Medicine at UBC. Records relating to Indigenous Peoples include the teacher training program and "Native Indian Students at UBC." Documents related to faculties and departments, including Applied Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Forestry, Graduate Studies, VP Finance, Administrative Services, VP Faculty and Student Affairs, Dean of Women, Agricultural Sciences, Dentistry, Education, Law, Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Also present are records related to Women at UBC, - including reports on the Status of Academic and Non-Academic Women - Senate Committees and the Board of Governors. The fonds consists of notes, manuscripts, drafts, galleys, and correspondence relating to McWhirter's published and unpublished novels, short stories, poetry, and radio plays. It also includes biographical and autobiographical information, non-fiction manuscripts, book reviews, material regarding McWhirter's editorship of "Words from Inside", translation records, teaching material, records relating to his time as Head of the Creative Writing Department and other personal and professional correspondence.

The series is divided into two subseries, Textual Materials and Electronic Backups. Textual materials consist of manuscripts of novels and short stories. The arrangement, primarily chronological by published work, also reflects two peculiarities of his writing style. First, he labelled some as the final draft prematurely rather than numbering successive drafts. Some of his novels, therefore, have several "final" drafts. As best as possible, these have been arranged in chronological order. Also, during the creative process and modification of draft versions, Maillard created what he calls "spin-off," including ideas that are developed on the side but never added into storyboards developing the arrangement of the scenes and pages removed from a draft version. Other segments of the spin-off are unidentifiable beyond the novel to which they belong; these have been given a letter designation (A, B, C) to indicate which files were found together. The letter does not imply any sense of order, chronological or otherwise. Spin-offs with uncertain chronology have been filed at the end of each manuscript sub-series with specific research notes and related miscellaneous files. Some files contain UBC-related correspondence. The electronic backup consists of copies of the textual materials.

Predominantly, the series consists of records relating to the long-running Birth Weight Project. However, in all these projects, Ward sought to understand the history of human welfare and its social determinants.

Subseries consists of research and materials relating to Ward's book The Clean Body: A Modern History published by McGill-Queen's University Press in November 2019. This book represents a synthesis of scholarship on the history and development of personal hygiene in Canada, Europe, and the U.S. Types of records in the sub-series include journal article photocopies, research notes, correspondence, publicity materials, manuscript copies, and chapter drafts of the book. Photocopied documents retained by the archivist include some sort of annotations by Ward. This project included some digital-born materials saved by Ward on a USB removable memory drive. Records saved as files on the drive included various journal articles or chapters in addition to a master bibliography for the project created in the software EndNote. Other *file formats included are Microsoft Word Documents (.docx and .doc), Microsoft Excel Documents (.xlsx and .xls) and PDFs.

Some of the records in this subseries are in Italian, French, and German.
