The fonds consists of regular minutes (1919-1970), conciliation reports from various unions (1943-1974), correspondence (1953-1975) and office files from Southern Interior shops (1957-1980). The fonds also includes IAM Grand Lodge correspondence (1953-1973, incomplete), receipts (1919-1961) and records for Lodges 131 (1943-1961), 109 (1949- 1966) and 867 (1951-1964). Major correspondents include companies such as the Schlage Lock Company, Brunette Machine Works, and Bitco Sales and Service as well as the Metal Industries Association. The fonds also includes agreements, negotiations, and correspondence with many companies whose major customers are part of the mining, forestry and fishing sectors of the British Columbia economy.

The fonds consists of financial records, minutes, correspondence, legal documents, departmental files, broadcast transcripts, proceedings, convention reports, agreements, printed material and copies of the newspaper, British Columbia Lumber Worker. Also included in the fonds is the B. C. Lumber Worker Photograph Collection (1940-1982) which consists of images used in various publications to reflect the activities of the union.

The fonds consists primarily of records arising from a Boag Foundation-sponsored conference in 1983 based on the theme "Meeting the Challenge of the Eighties and Beyond." Many of the participants were prominent members of the New Democratic Party. Other materials in the fonds include correspondence of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee of the Provincial NDP (1977), political educational material from the Canadian Labour Congress, notes and press clippings.

The fonds consists of agreements and printed material detailing the activities of the United Steelworkers of America in British Columbia (1966-1973) and personal correspondence relating to King's activities (1973-1975).

The fonds consists of minute books for Carpenters' Locals 1735 (1922-1977) and 1081 (1953-1972) and the Piledrivers' Local 1549 (1944-1954). The fonds also includes correspondence, subject files, collective agreements and financial records from the union offices in Prince Rupert and Kitimat/Terrace.

The fonds consists of B.C. Electric Office Employees' Association minutes (1921-1955) and office files (1929-1962); OEIU, Local 378 minutes (1955-1964); OTEU, Local 378 minutes (1964 -1980) and office files (1952-1978); office files for the various B.C. Electric and B.C. Hydro affiliates (1962-1978) and miscellaneous subject files. The latest accession consists of records relating to labour arbitrations between the Labour Relations Board of B.C. and Union employees.

The fonds consists of correspondence, reports, notes, speeches, minutes, press releases, clippings and printed material arising from Shearer's career as social activist, planner, and teacher (1975-1988). Records include much material relating to the Solidarity Coalition, human rights, and the Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia.

The fonds consists of minutes, agendas, reports, correspondence, notebooks, financial records, lists, speeches and subject files generated by the Vancouver-Kingsway Constituency Association of the NDP (1972- 1975). Also included are minutes of the Vancouver East Riding Association (1957-1958), records of the CCF Provincial Executive (1955-1959), minutes of the Greater Vancouver Water and Drainage Workers (1964-1966), maps, surveys and photographs.

The fonds consists of the subject files, posters, photographs and pamphlets relating to the activities of the Revolutionary Workers League and its predecessors the League for Social Action, Socialist Educational League and the Revolutionary Workers Party. Research and subject files contain information on unions and the labour movement. Fonds includes correspondence and meeting programs.

The fonds consists of notes, reports, photocopies and other material relating to the organization and aims of the United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union, 1977-78, and the "Fish and Ships" project, a group study of the B.C. fisheries industry, fishing and fish processing labour force, and fishing communities on the B.C. coast, in the overall context of a study of capital and markets, 1981-1984.

The fonds consists of research files compiled during the writing of Paul Phillip's No Power Greater: A Century of Labour in British Columbia, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, political education material, history questionnaires and minutes of the Federation and affiliated associations. Five subsequent accessions have resulted in the deposit of office files, financial records, briefs, convention proceedings, speeches, memoranda, photographs and sound recordings reflecting the wide scope of activity and interest pursued by the Federation.

The fonds consists of minutes, financial records, negotiations and agreements, speeches and subject files generated by the Fisheries Association. The subject files include information on the activities of the Association including labour, safety, pollution, resources, waste water and licence limitations. The material was primarily generated during the period 1955 to 1975, except for minutes of the Salmon Canners' Operating Committee (1943-1948), agreements (1946-1956) and one subject file on the Native Brotherhood of B.C. (1947-1958).

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, case files, convention material and other textual records relating to the activities of the Food and Service Workers of Canada Union and its predecessor unions, the Canadian Food and Associated Services Union and the White Spot Employees Union.

The fonds consists of a scrapbook (1936-1939); clippings, printed material; correspondence (1970s); financial statements of B.C. District, IWA (1945-1947); ribbons and buttons for IWA and Labour Progressive Party conventions (1944-1948); subject files pertaining to his legal status while travelling in the United States (1936-1938); 31 prints of loggers' funerals and membership cards.
