Broadside was illustrated by Charles, with a translation of a piece by the Greek lyric poet Simonides done by Danielle S. Allen. The broadside was printed by Susan M. Allen at the Oldtown Press in Los Angeles. On the bottom of the broadside is printed "Joint Meeting, Zamorano & Roxburghe Clubs, October 2008."

The collection pertains to D.T. Willis’ career and involvement in construction projects throughout British Columbia predominately between 1948 and 1962. The collection includes numerous groups of photographs documenting the opening of the Hope-Princeton Highway, BC Department of Public Works construction projects and personnel, Engineering Conferences, BC Public Works Events and a 1948 image of the original 1880's wagon trail between Hope and Cache Creek, BC. Numerous photographs have annotations on the back, identifying subjects, dates, and contextual information. Textual materials also appear in the Collection, including a commemorative pamphlet for the Hope-Princeton Highway opening, car mileage recordings for several roadways, photograph indexes and identification sheets.

Fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, drafts, pamphlets, academic papers, poems, research material, notes, transcripts, reports, submissions, agreements, minutes, programmes, photographs, and other material. Records relate to Miki’s writing and editing activities, his academic career, his involvement and support of the Japanese Canadian Redress movement, his participation in various literary and cultural events and projects, and his personal life.

The fonds consists of 22.89 m of textual records, ca. 2650 photographs and extensive audiovisual materials created and/or accumulated by the British Columbia History of Nursing Society (BCHNS). The BCHNS Archives established and organized records into broad groups: fonds/subfonds, collections, biographical files, oral histories and miscellaneous materials. These categories of records have been arranged as subfonds and series under the BCHNS fonds.

Materials related to the society include records created by the group in the course of its administrative activities, and accumulated in its function of preserving material related to the history of nursing in British Columbia and elsewhere. Much of the material has a historical value, both in regard to B.C. nursing, and farther afield. A brief history of the Registered Nurses Association of British Columbia is included. While there are some earlier records, most date from 1985 to 2012. The records of several committees that made annual reports to the BCHNPPG are included. For example, the Oral History Committee was established in 1981 to document the development of nursing and to capture some of the stories and activities of B.C. nurses. The Memorial Nursing Portrait Collection committee was established in 1990 to raise money for the History of Nursing Scholarship fund and to provide a lasting visual memorial for a friend or family member. Histories of hospitals and individuals are also documented. Events, programs and displays are documented through graphic, audio and textual material. Reference material includes newsletters, records related to Florence Nightingale and the roles played by nurses in war. Postcards and other historical materials more generally related to nursing are also included. Fundraising initiatives, and financial records are also included along with membership information and activities.

Records not related to the formation and ongoing functions of the B.C. History of Nursing Society are divided into 35 subfonds. While the subfonds do not generally relate to specific functions of the BCHNS, they all contribute to a general understanding of individuals and groups of nurses who have contributed to the development of nursing in British Columbia. Many individuals are represented in more than one area of the larger fonds.

The original collections consist of 5.6 m of textual records and graphic materials, audiovisual material and an extensive reference library. The textual records include a comprehensive collection of UBC student cards from 1921 to 1994, several diplomas and certificates, and conference related materials. Records from the Kootenay Lake Hospital, the Kelowna General Hospital and the Prince Rupert General Hospital consist of nursing manuals, training schedules and ledgers. Extensive photographs document historical and educational displays prepared and presented by the BCHNS. Many audiovisual materials contain records created by the Society or provide general reference information. The reference library contains books concentrating primarily on B.C nursing and will be catalogued and made available separately.

Biographical files consist of 2.4 m of textual records and ca. 382 photographs related to nurses who have made significant contributions to their profession in British Columbia. Files include records related to the person’s life and career, photographs, copies of publications, memories and biographical information and other records relating to nursing activities in B.C. An item level contents list is located at the front of each file. A full index of the files, which includes a brief biography of each subject and the file contents is available in RBSC-ARC-1831-102-15.

The oral histories consists of recordings on ca. 320 audio cassettes, 72 CDs and related textual records. These interviews date from 1987 to 2013 and are arranged alphabetically by the subject’s last name. Many interviews exist in multiple formats or have multiple cassettes and/or CDs. A small portion of interviews of high quality and enduring interest have been copied to MP3 format, these materials will be made available upon request. Hard copy summaries are arranged alphabetically in this series. A detailed index of all the oral histories is located in RBSC-ARC-1831-013-13, which includes interviewer and interviewee names, topics discussed, date of recording and other relevant information.

The original 34 subfonds have been retained and arranged as such under the BCHNS fonds. A 2022 accrual added the Richmond-Delta Professional Practice Group subfonds. Records of the society are arranged in the following series:

The Editorial Board Committee is responsible for the production of the BCHNPPG newsletters. It was formerly called the Newsletter Committee.

Subseries consists of one folder of minutes, correspondence and other records. Subseries also includes the History of Nursing News quarterly publication from 1990-2022, and promotional materials for events organized by the BCHNS.

The collection contains materials related to Ian McDonald's Master's thesis research on the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 213 “Class conflict and political factionalism: a history of Local 213 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 1901-1961," and related to the activities of his father, Les McDonald, a trade union activist who belonged to Local 213 but was eventually suspended for leading the Lenkurt strike of 1966. Les McDonald was also a multi-sport athlete, and is credited with introducing the triathlon into the Olympics; some materials in the collection relate to Les McDonald's involvement in various sport and environmental organizations, as well as some of his personal papers. In addition to what he received from his father, Ian McDonald was also given papers by former IBEW Local 213 business manager Art O’Keeffe and Barry Sharbo, a board member of the Canadian Union of Electrical Workers (UE), as well as Alfie Huston, the former President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213 from 1985-1988, which are included within the collection.

The collection is largely comprised of newspaper and photocopied journal articles, correspondence between members of IBEW Local 213, legal documentation, newsletters and other printed ephemera related to IBEW Local 213.

The collection also contains sound recordings of interviews with numerous figures in IBEW Local 213 created by Ian McDonald during his thesis research. McDonald's thesis, submitted for the completion of a Master of Arts in History at Simon Fraser University, can be found in the Summit database: http://summit.sfu.ca/item/6361.

The collection also contains background materials accumulated by McDonald while writing his book “The Red Baron of IBEW 213,” including digital sound recordings of interviews, research articles, notebooks, consent forms, a draft royalty agreement, a draft chapter and a press marketing questionnaire.

Series consists of records pertaining to winemaking and viticulture at Quails’ Gate Vineyard Estate and Winery. Series includes both analogue and digital records. Series includes records such as photographs, videos, maps, surveys, and tasting notes.

Series documents Mayrs’s personal interests as well as family history. In particular it traces his passion for running, his correspondence on behalf of his personal political views, and some of his activities from when he was growing up (i.e. his work as a paper boy).

Record types include: a genealogy, recollections of Mayrs’s family history written by the creator, press clippings that mention Mayrs, speeches and letters written by Mayrs for friends and personal milestones, photographs and ephemera that relate to his personal and aggregate professional life.

File consists of five pages of untitled musical scores, potentially pitch charts for Gradients of Detail.

Fonds consists of records from Quails’ Gate Estate Winery located in West Kelowna, British Columbia. Records in this fonds pertain to the history of the vineyard and the Stewart family, as well as the winery’s business and administration. This fonds includes both analog and born-digital records. Fonds is arranged into four series: 1) Historical; 2) Promotional records; 3) Management records; 4) Winemaking and viticulture.

Series consists of promotional and marketing records from Quails’ Gate Vineyards Estate Winery. Series includes both analogue and digital records. Series includes records such as wine labels and profiles, promotional ephemera such as brochures and posters, video tapes, as well as photographs of the vineyard and the estate’s accommodations.

File consists of 11 unbound pages (five of which being front-and-back) of the final score of composer's Gradients of Detail 2021 edition.

Fonds illustrates Mayrs’s work in visual arts, limited edition book design and publishing, and advertising and PR. It also contains records relating to his personal interests and family history.
The materials are arranged into three series, reflecting his different careers and personal life. Visual art and literary project records include: exhibition ephemera; photographic reproductions of Mayrs’s work; mockups, drafts, and unused material from projects; concepts and designs of unpublished and in-progress works; and correspondence related to his art practice. Advertising and PR project records include ads designed by Mayrs; administrative and ephemeral materials associated with Dome Advertising; and a small number of textual records relating to Mayrs’ work at Lovick BBDO. Personal records include Mayrs’ documentation of his family history; press clippings that profile Mayrs; and other photographs and ephemera that relate to his personal and aggregate professional life.

Series documents Pratt’s roles in the British Columbia Government Employees Union, the British Columbia Federation of Labour and the United Way. Numerous academic papers, related to the NDP, socialism, and other related issues written by Alan Whitehorn and sent to Pratt are included in this series. Records related to Pratt’s role as the BCGEU Election Coordinator of the Political Action Working Group, as well as her retirement in 2007. Subject files relate to various women’s issues, BC Benefits, Charlottetown Constitutional Agreement, the Gove Inquiry, Ontario NDP-Labour Union relations, and other labour-related issues. Union professional materials include correspondence, discussion papers, briefs, government reports, committee minutes and agendas, and background papers. 1994 Federal NDP Convention Materials appear in this series as Pratt attended this conference as a BCGEU representative. Some records relate to Pratt’s association with the United Way. Pratt’s labour-related work is closely tied to her political career; where possible these records have been separated by role, however some overlap may be present among the Provincial and Labour Union series. Record types include correspondence, reference material, committee records, reports, newspaper clippings, news release, communications, collected speeches, publications, event programs, a photograph and button.

Fonds documents several of Eva-Marie Kröller’s academic projects: her biography of British Columbia author George Bowering, Bright Circles of Colours (Talonbooks, 1992); essays on Roy Kiyooka and Emily Carr; her book Canadian Travellers in Europe, 1851-1900 (UBC Press, 1987); materials relating to her book Writing the Empire: The McIlwraiths, 1853-1948 (2021); an article entitled “Une femme bien en vue”: Adrienne Clarkson and the Media (2014); and an anthology of travel literature that she and historian Pierre Savard were planning, but which was not completed before Savard’s death in 1998 in addition to other various research materials. Also included are documents related to a workshop organized by SATE (Swiss Association of Teachers in English), and correspondence with Canadian authors. The materials consist of textual records (correspondence, notes, drafts, and readers’ reports), published materials, and a 3.5” computer floppy disk containing a digital manuscript of Bright Circles of Colours.

Primarily promotional and press releases, this file also includes one page of administrative information regarding the artists of this QAF.

Series consists of original drawings, scores, handwritten notes and revisions, book/booklets and other materials relating to Szlavnics’ Gradients of Detail. Gradients of Detail was composed by Szlavnics in 2005 especially for Montreal-based string quartet Quatuor Bozzini. Szlavnics compositional process is closely affiliated with her line drawings which became the graphical representation of the score. This visual score was essential to represent the slow sustains and glissandi found throughout this work. The scores are meant to be read from left to right as time (in seconds) and from up to down as the high to low frequency range of pitch, though she cautions against reading this visual representation as exact pitches. These visual artworks must also serve to be art in and of themselves, as that would guarantee that the musical score translated out of it will be strong, according to Szlavnics. She says the forms in Gradients of Detail line drawings are related to the seed pods of the milkweed plant which she drew in Canada in the fall of 2004 just after her father passed away.

The collection consists of materials collected or acquired from various sources that document the history of the Sopron Division of Forestry and its alumni. In addition, it includes a set of the Kapocs Sopron alumni newsletter.

The fonds consists of manuscripts of his novels and short stories, issues of underground newspapers, audio recordings of Maillard's radio shows, musical scores, correspondence with other writers, and reference files for his works. It also contains extensive electronic backups of his manuscripts, digital notes, and journals on floppy diskettes. It also contains artwork and photographs of important objects, people, and places.

Kapocs (“The Link”) is a newsletter created and distributed by alumni of the Sopron Division of Forestry to document the stories and activities of Sopron graduates. The contents of Kapocs are written almost entirely in Hungarian.

Collection consists of primary resources and related materials created and used by Canadian women composers. Each series is dedicated to one of the participating composers, which currently consists of Deborah Carruthers, Dorothy Chang, Zosha Di Castri, Lori Freedman, Barbara Monk Feldman, Ana Sokolović, and Chiyoko Szlavnics. Materials include a variety of records, such as original scores, manuscripts, working drafts, photographs, prints, published articles, correspondence, and materials used as inspiration in the artists' work. Going forward, the collection is expected to evolve and incorporate additional Canadian women composers.

Series documents Mayrs’ visual art work—including his paintings, cartoons, and fine press limited edition books—and exhibitions that have featured it.
Records in this series include photographic reproductions of a large number of Mayrs’s paintings, drawings, books, and other artwork; promotional materials from exhibitions such as posters, flyers, exhibit catalogs; drafts and copies of both published and unpublished political cartoons; original and photographic reproductions of penwork, photographs, and other artwork created by Mayrs specifically for his books, including for un-published and in-progress works; and press clippings and correspondence specifically pertaining to Mayrs’s work in the visual arts.

Pages of history is an informal way of peer recognition of B.C. nurses deemed to have made a significant contribution to their profession. Anyone could be nominated on payment of a fee.

The fonds reflects Patrice Pratt’s political and labour union careers and her community organization involvement. As Pratt held various roles simultaneously throughout her career and much of her union work informed her political career, this overlap is reflected in her files. Records are divided into series based on the role held by Pratt at the beginning of the process, resulting in some record dates falling outside the official boundaries of the role she was working in.

The series includes copies of Thorton's CVs and resumes and an autobiography Telling My Life Story. Also included are coloured prints, awards and recognitions.

Series consists of an outline for a book on the history and rules of Canadian football.

Series consists of extensive research notes, draft manuscripts and source materials used by Williams in conducting family history research. Copies of "The Bowerman Family, 1379 to the Present: English, American, Canadian" [CS 71 B69 W4] and "The Samuel Williams, Jemima Platt Family" [CS 90 W54] are available in Special Collections as well as in the fonds. Series also includes three postcard albums collected by M.Y. Williams' mother, Carrie Williams and numerous photographs.

The fonds consists of notes, manuscripts, drafts, galleys, and correspondence relating to McWhirter's published and unpublished novels, short stories, poetry, and radio plays. It also includes biographical and autobiographical information, non-fiction manuscripts, book reviews, material regarding McWhirter's editorship of "Words from Inside", translation records, teaching material, records relating to his time as Head of the Creative Writing Department and other personal and professional correspondence.

The fonds consists of records reflecting the myriad of activities under the President's Office. Records relating to the university's founding in its earliest days include records of the early days of Medicine at UBC. Records relating to Indigenous Peoples include the teacher training program and "Native Indian Students at UBC." Documents related to faculties and departments, including Applied Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Forestry, Graduate Studies, VP Finance, Administrative Services, VP Faculty and Student Affairs, Dean of Women, Agricultural Sciences, Dentistry, Education, Law, Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Also present are records related to Women at UBC, - including reports on the Status of Academic and Non-Academic Women - Senate Committees and the Board of Governors. The fonds reflects Peter Cardew’s professional career as an architect, predominantly since 1966, the year that he emigrated to Canada. Over his career, Cardew designed schools, exhibition buildings for Expo ‘86 held in Vancouver, B.C., condominiums, private homes, office buildings, libraries, art galleries, retail establishments and furniture. Records include slides and photographs reflecting buildings that may have served as inspiration for his designs, as well as those that he designed and built. Records also include building permits for select projects, and an exhibit catalogue for one of his most well known exhibitions: Peter Cardew, Ordinary Buildings, an exhibition of his drawings first held in the Charles H. Scott Gallery at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, B.C. Records also include numerous awards that Cardew received for his designs, certificates which document his membership in various professional associations, as well as posters for various speaker series in which he participated. The fonds also includes records related to the operation of Cardew’s firm, Peter Cardew Architects, such as account ledgers and the firm profile.
