Manuscripts

The Manuscripts series contains published and unpublished manuscripts, submissions and proposals. Records include full texts, excerpts, edits, contracts, correspondence, research, reader's reports that evaluate if the work should be considered for publication, and editorial production reports. Files may be related to specific authors or works, as well as a few more general files such as production reports or correspondence and collaboration with other editorial services, such as reviewers or representatives. Manuscript edits for published works were generally not retained. Works represented in this series include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children's books. In addition to works published by Harbour, files include self-published books, works and proceedings sponsored through societies or other organizations, and books produced through Harbour on behalf of other publishers.
